   A. Software Requirements:

         o MS-DOS 5.0 or later.


   B. Installation for PC-NFS

      a. Prepare the QuikNDIS diskette which contains the drivers for
         PC-NFS. The adapter driver can not be installed without it.
         Insert the diskette into drive A: or B:.

      b. Insert the adapter driver disk into the other drive.

      c. Run the QuikNDIS command.

      d. After entering the "NDIS Driver" menu, type "0" to choose the
         third party driver.

      e. Key in the drive and path of "PCNFS" to indicate the diskette
         and directory of the stored source driver, i.e. <drive>:\NDIS2

      f. After disk duplication is complete,the "Digital Semiconductor
         2104x/2114x 10/100 mbps Ethernet Controller" message appears.

      g. The driver name should be DC21X4$ for the PCI bus.

      h. Add the statement listed below in CONFIG.SYS. The program will
         update PROTOCOL.INI files automatically.

             DEVICE=C:\LANMAN\DC21x4.DOS

      i. Reboot the workstation.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
