Microsoft Windows NT 3.51 Installation Notes for Intel's EtherExpress(TM)
10 ISA Adapter

General Installation
--------------------
If you have a Plug and Play BIOS, make sure you DISABLE Plug and Play on
your adapter using EX10Set (Change Adapter Configuration; and then
Advanced Options menu). NT may not be able to find your adapter if Plug
and Play is enabled. NT 3.51 doesn't support Plug and Play (it doesn't
support a Configuration Manager.)
If you haven't installed Windows NT 3.51
1. Use EX10Set to configure the adapter before running the NT setup. Make
sure you write down the IRQ and I/O address settings.
2. Install NT. During NT Setup, you're asked to select a Network Adapter
Card. Select "<Other>" from the list. Insert either the EtherExpress
10 ISA adapter disk.
3. When prompted, enter A:\NT as the path to the driver.
4. Change the adapter settings to agree with the settings in EX10Set.
The Interrupt value should match the IRQ value, and the I/O Port
should match the I/O address. DO NOT change the I/O Channel Ready
setting.
5. NT Setup then performs the binding process. If you installed any
additional network software options (for example, Client Services for
NetWare), you may be prompted for specific information for these
options.
6. When NT Setup finishes, restart your computer and use the File Manager
to connect to the network.
If you've already installed Windows NT 3.51
1. Use EX10Set to configure the adapter before running NT setup. Make
sure you write down the IRQ and I/O address settings.
2. In Windows NT, select the Network icon in the Control Panel, then
choose Add Adapter.
3. When the list of available adapters displays, select "<Other>" at the
end of the list.
4. Insert the EtherExpress 10 ISA adapter disk.
5. When prompted, enter A:\NT as the path to the driver.
6. Change the adapter settings to agree with the settings in EX10Set.
The Interrupt value should match the IRQ value, and the I/O Port
should match the I/O address. DO NOT change the I/O Channel Ready
setting.
7. NT Setup then performs the binding process. If you installed any
additional network software options (for example, Client Services for
NetWare), you may be prompted for specific information for these
options.
8. Restart NT when prompted. Use the File Manager to connect to the
network.
Troubleshooting
===============
- Make sure the adapter is seated firmly in the slot.
- Make sure the network cable is securely attached.
- If Windows NT can't find the adapter, disable Plug and Play using
EX10Set's Advanced Options menu. You must reboot to DOS to run
EX10Set. After disabling Plug and Play, reboot Windows NT.
- Check with your LAN administrator; you may need to install
supplemental networking software.

Download Driver Pack

Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
