I. MS Memory Card Description

   MS Memory Card is the initial of Memory Stick Memory Card.
   1. It is easy to carry and handle because it is small, light and slender. The devices which utilize
      Memory Stick can be developed to be compact with allowing flexibility in deign.

   2. Because the number of contacts (terminal) is only 10 pins and the structure does not allow users 
      to touch it, the higher reliability is secured. 

   3. By the erase protection switch, it is easy to protect your important data.

   4. Because Memory Stick has the dedicated controller inside of it and use the unique serial protocol
      employed for the interface with applying devices, it has the flexibility to answer the development
      of large-scale memory to be developed in the future.

   5. By the original copyright protection technology, the MagicGate Memory Stick is equipped with the 
      mechanism to protect copyrighted data. So MagicGate Memory Stick can also be used for recording 
      copyrighted music and other applications as well as used as one of semiconductor media.

II. To Install MS Reader Driver in Windows 2000 system

   1. Properly install the MS reader on the MS Port before start the Windows system.

   2. As the Windows system starts, a "New Hardware" notice will first show on the screen. "Find New Hardware
      Wizard" dialog window will pop up to guide the user through the installation. Click "Next" to process
      to the next step

   3. "Find New Hardware Wizard" will then ask the user to choose two options: 1. Search a suitable driver
      for my device(recommended). 2. Display a list of the known drivers for this device so that I can choose
      a specific driver. Select the first option then click "Next" to process to the next step.

   4. In this step the Wizard will ask the user to select the location for the driver that needed to install
      MS reader. Select "Specify a location:" option, then type or browse the path 
      {CD-ROM Drive}:\Drivers\Winbond\MS\Win2K to the driver.

   5. Click "OK" to confirm the location. 

   6. Select "Next" to process to the final step. As the wizard process complete the installation, click
      "Finish" to complete the installation.

III. To Install MS Reader Driver in Windows XP system

   1. Properly install the MS reader on the MS Port before start the Windows system.

   2. As the Windows system starts, a "New Hardware" notice will first show on the screen. "Found New Hardware
      Wizard" dialog window will pop up to guide the user through the installation. Click "Next" to process
      to the next step

   3. "Found New Hardware Wizard" will then ask the user to choose two options: 1. Install the software 
      automatically(Recommended). 2. Install from a list or specific location(Advanced). Select the second 
      option then click "Next" to process to the next step.

   4. In this step the Wizard will ask the user to select the location for the driver that needed to install
      MS reader. Select "Search for the best driver in these location" option and then choose "Include this
      location in the search" checkbox, then type or browse the path {CD-ROM Drive}:\Drivers\Winbond\MS\Win2K
      to the driver.

   5. Select "Next" to process to the final step. As the wizard process complete the installation, click
      "Finish" to complete the installation.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
