BIOS RELEASE NOTES

System: PowerEdge SP/XE 5XX-2
Version: A06
Release Date: 06/22/95

The following problems in the A05 BIOS were corrected to generate the
A06 BIOS:

1. With CoSession software running under OS/2, system locked up when it
received a keystroke from a remote system through a serial port.

2. Under Banyan Vines with the Compaq Netflex-2 card installed, system
locked up when a Page Fault Exception occurred.

3. Embedded Diagnostics failed when SI parallel port card was set to 278h.

4. Embedded Diagnostics failed with Soundblaster AWE32 card installed. (The
test algorithm was changed to work around the Intel bug in the Timer.)

5. With the setup password enabled, pressing ALT-F was resetting all the
     fields to factory defaults.

6. Embedded Diagnostics failed with a new revision of NCR 810 SCSR
     controller chip.

7. A bug was causing the IDE controller to remain OFF when no IDE
drives were configured, regardless of the setting for the IDE
Controller in System Setup program. (The controller should turn OFF/ON
depending only on the setting of IDE Controller in System Setup.)

In addition, the following changes are included in the A06 BIOS:

8. Added support for INT 15h, function E820h for memory sizing.

9. Removed the "PASSWORD ENTRY" field from the second page of the
     system setup screen.
