  Thanks for choosing the Fast Ethernet 10/100 PC Card from Linksys.  Before
  attempting to install the card, we highly recommend that you read
  the User Guide that came with your card in order to install both your
  PCMCIA socket & card services AND your network driver.


  Setup
  ----------------------------------------------------------------------

  The Fast Ethernet Card is a plug-and-play with 10BaseT/100BaseTX auto-detect
  network adapter that is designed to be automatically detected by
  Windows XP as soon as you insert it into your computer.

  Before inserting your Fast Ethernet 10/100 PC Card, please have the
  installation media for the Windows XP ready for any request for files.

 To begin the setup:

  1. With the system off, remove all PC Cards.

  2. Start up your computer.  After Windows XP is up and running,
     put the driver disk of PCMCIA Fast Ethernet into drive A:.

  3. Insert the Fast Ethernet Card into PC Card slot.

  4. After starting Windows XP, the PCMCIA will be detected automatically,
     then the Found New Hardware Wizard window appears.

  5. Click the Next button in the Install Hardware Device Drivers window.
     Windows XP will start to search floppy drive A for network driver.

  6. Click Continue Anyway button, then the Windows XP starts to copy the
     driver to the user's hard disk.

  7. Click Finish button.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
