II. Installing UNIXWARE 7.1.3 SCO OpenSever 5.06 / 5.07 on a Dell Server Equipped with a PERC4/Di or PCI Perc4 ======================================================================= Supported Systems: PowerEdge 1750, PowerEdge 2600 Onboard Perc4/Di Raid Controllers In order to install UnixWare or SCO OpenServer to a Perc4/Di RAID controller on a Dell Server you will need to install a HBA driver during install. Follow the directions below to create the HBA diskette and install the driver. 1) dd the driver image to a floppy. This can be done under a UNIX based operating system with the dd command (ie. dd if=fileimage.img of=/dev/fd0) with fd0 being the floppy drive. There are also DOS based programs that will do this such as rawrite (remember, if you are using a DOS based machine without long filename support you will need to use a truncated filename) available from sites like: ftp://ftp.cdrom.com/pub/linux/redhat/dos/rawrite.exe ftp://sunsite.unc.edu/pub/Linux/distributions/redhat/dos/rawrite.exe - Unixware 7.1.3: Start the install as normal, The UnixWare install should prompt you to load additional HBA drivers. Insert the "perc" HBA diskette This installs the HBA Perc4/Di driver (perc). Continue installation as normal, you will be prompted to insert the driver disk for the percraid driver later. - SCO OpenServer 5.06 / 5.07 Start the SCO Install from bootable SCO CDROM when at the boot: type "link=perc" without the "" quotes at the Prompt. link=<driver> Install should continue on and ask to insert the diskette containing the "perc" driver. The install should continue on as normal and ask. Please check the SCO web site for additional updates or patches. http://www.sco.comDownload Driver Pack
