This driver diskette enables support for 3-mode floppy drives under Windows 2000, and Windows XP on the following systems: OptiPlex GX620 OptiPlex GX520 Precision WS690 Precision WS490 Installation Instructions for Windows 2000: Open "My Computer" on your desktop. Right-click on the A: drive object, "floppy drive 3 1/2 Floppy (A:)" and select "Properties" from the menu. Select the HARDWARE tab, then select "floppy disk drive" in the device list and click "Properties." Select the "Driver" tab and click "Update Driver." Click "Display a list of known drivers," then click "Have disk" and direct it to the Win2K-XP directory in this package. Select the file FLP3-SMC.INF file. Installation Instructions for Windows XP: Open "My Computer" on your Start Menu. Right-click on the A: drive object, "3 1/2 Floppy (A:)" and select "Properties" from the menu. Select the HARDWARE tab, then select "floppy disk drive" in the device list and click "Properties." Select the "Driver" tab and click "Update Driver...". Select "Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)" and click "Next>". Select "Don't search. I will choose the driver to install" and click "Next>". Click on the "Have Disk..." button use browse to find the directory where this package is installed (usually inside C:\DELL\Drivers). Select the win2K-XP directory. Select the file FLP3-SMC.INF file Click "Next>" to install the driver. You may see a "Hardware Installation" warning message. Select "Continue Anyway" and then select "Finish". You may see a "System Settings Change" message with a request to restart your computer. Once you do so, your 3-Mode driver will be operational.Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
