This Utility is intended for those customers who purchased Dell systems with an Intel WLAN adapter and are having WLAN connection issues ONLY.

Intel (R) Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN

Release Highlights: 
* Improves WLAN connectivity on Dell systems equipped with Intel 3945ABG and 4965AGN adapters


Important Information:

* Following completion of the utility installation, restarting the system is required.

* This utility should only be installed if the below three conditions are met:

    1. Only customers with Dell systems described on the support.Dell.com site where this release was downloaded should install this utility
    2. Only customers with either the Intel 3945 or 4965 adapters should install this utility
    3. Only customers who are experiencing WLAN issues should install this utility

Installation Options:  Recommended only for users with specific installation needs

-s     Silent install switch.  Will not display final message stating utility has completed running.  And will not automatically reboot system after utility has finished.  In order to use this switch, the utility executable must be extracted from the zippack.  Then the executable must be run with the -s switch.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
