1. Quick start for driver and software installation
====================================================
It's recommended that you setup driver and software before connecting
scanner to your PC for smooth installation. Normally, a software installation
menu appears automatically after this CD-ROM is inserted into your CD-ROM
drive. Click on each item to start installing the software program of your
choice.
If the menu did not appear, please browse the CD and find a program file
named "presetup.exe" in the root directory and double-click on it. The menu
will appear.
If you want to get to know the content of this CD and install software
manually, please refer to the descriptions of the CD content below.
2. Content of this CD-ROM

AutoRun AutoRun Menu relative files
Driver MiraScan v5.0 driver
Copier Copier v2.1, a handy software providing "Copy Machine" function
by linking your scanner and printer.
AbbyyOCR The Abbyy FineReader v4.0 Sprint and v4.0 Try&Buy version. This
OCR (optical character recognition) software program provides
outstanding text recognition results in European language. To
use the "Scan to OCR" or other related functions provided by
MiraScan, this software program must be installed.
HW-OCR The HW-OCR v5.0 plus version. This software provides excellent
Traditional and Simplified Chinese text recognition ability.
You need to install it under a Chinese system to make this
software program work.
PManager Pagemanager includes three easy-to-use applications that help u
organize ur documents and photographs electrically and other
scanning needs.
AShare Active Share provides a simple one-click photo import process
from your Scanner. Once these photos are in the computer,Active
Share allows users to edit, manage and send photos either in a
e-mail massage or directly to photosharing sites.
AReader Adobe AcrobatReader v4.0.5. It's a "must have" utility to read
files in the popular cross-platform file format "PDF". You can
find Traditional and Simplified Chinese support fonts here,
too.
AlbumTG Album To Go allows you to quickly and easily transfer images from
your computer, or any Club Photo? Web site, to your Palm OS device
where you can display them individually, or in a slide show format.
HTMLDOC HTML format document. They are the source for the on-line help.
You can easily read them with Microsoft Internet Explorer v4.0
or higher versions.
eManual Electronic user's manual files. Normally, those files will be
copied to your system after MiraScan 5 is installed. You can
read them in this folder with Adobe AcrobatReader v4.0 or
higher versions.
LinuxDrv Linux Driver for FireFly. Please read another readme.txt file
under this directory if you need to setup your scanner with
LinuxOS.
3. Universal Plug and Play installation instruction
===================================================
We suggest users sincerely that setup MiraScan 5.0 driver first, and then install
your scanner set.
If you proceed PnP(Plug and Play) mode, please confirm first what your operation
system is and select the appropriate route path to setup MiraScan 5.0 driver.

Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
