Step-by-step instructions to install this SCO-UNIX LLI driver
for PRO120(A) PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter in SCO v5.x.
=============================================================

In \SCO-UNIX directory of this diskette, it contains two files:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Files Contents
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
readme.txt this file.
etfdrv.tar PRO120(A) Fast Ethernet Adapter's driver for SCO-UNIX.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Installation Procedure:
-----------------------

1. Prepare a formatted NON-bootable diskette.
You can have the diskette by putting a blank diskette
to floppy drive A:, then, in DOS prompt, type:

   C>format a:

2. De-compress the packed file, etfdrv.tar, in \SCO-UNIX directory.

   a. Boot the SCO-UNIX and enter the Maintenance mode
(press Control-d key to single-user mode).

   b. Change to \tmp directory by typing "cd /tmp".

   c. Insert the release diskette (this diskette) in a
proper floppy drive, i.e. drive A:.

   d. Copy the packed tar file to the /tmp directory by typing
      "doscp a:/sco-unix/etfdrv.tar etftar".

   e. Remove the release diskette and insert the "formatted
NON-bootable" diskette, prepared by step 1, to the floppy
      drive.

   f. Type "dd if=etftar of=/dev/rfd0135ds18" to transform
the tar file to the "formatted NON-bootable" diskette
      for later installations.
(Note: Use another device file name if you use a different
             floppy drive.)

   g. Now the diskette with the transformed files is ready
      for installations.

3. This section describes the installation of the driver.
It is suggested that you should follow these steps in the
   singler-user environment (maintenance mode).

   a. Run "custom" command, select the "Software" menu, and
select the "Install New..." item. Select "From scosysv",
and click "Continue" button. Then, select
"Floppy Disk Drive 0", and click "Continue" button.
It will prompt you "PRO120(A) PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter
Driver (version 1.x.x)" and choose a "FULL" option
      to install this package.

The driver is included in the system. Furthermore, you need to
run "netconfig" command to bind network protocols to the
driver, described in the step 4.

4. Run "netconfig" command to add the desired chain.
(SCO-UNIX LLI driver is called as "etf"). Follow
   the steps below.

   a. Run netconfig command file.

   b. Select the "Hardware" menu, then select "Add new LAN adapter"
item. Select "PRO120(A) PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter LLI driver,
board 0" item, click "Continue" button. You can add TCPIP
or IPX/SPX protocols now. If more than one boards are
      installed, first select board 0, then 1, 2, 3.

5. When the chain has been configured, select 'q' or 'exit'
from the netconfig menu. You need to re-link the system's
kernel to make the changes above to have an effect. Type 'y'
when 'Do you want to re-link the kernel now? is requested'.
Type 'y' when 'Do you want this kernel to boot by default?'
is requested. Type 'y', when 'Do you want the kernel
   environment rebuilt?' is requested.

6. To activate the adapter, you must reboot. When the system
reboots, you should see the following message among the
   other configuration messages:

   %etf0 0xPORT-0xPORT 11 - speed=10/100Mbs id=[xx-xx-xx-xx-xx-xx]

with the appropriate I/O PORT addresses, IRQ, adapter's
speed and the IEEE MAC address.

Notes: 1. This driver supports up to maximum 4 boards.
