NetWare Remote BootRom Installation

Installation Procedure:
-----------------------
The following example is excuted on Protocol Ethernet_802.2 and
the server driver is MX32SODI.LAN.

Step 1: In server, type the following commands,

        :Load rpl frame=ethernet_802.2
        :bind rpl to MX32SODI

Step 2: In client (workstation), prepare a DOS formatted and
        bootable diskette containing the following command files:
        LSL.COM, MX32MLID.EXE, IPXODI.COM, NETX.EXE. Besides,
        create an AUTOEXEC.BAT file with the following command lines:

        lsl
        mx32mlid
        ipxodi
        netx
        f:
        login

Step 3: Also, in client, login to the server.
        (By executing LSL, a LAN driver, IPXODI, NETX command files).
        Then, type the following commands:

        F:>cd\system
        F:SYSTEM>dosgen
        F:SYSTEM>copy net$dos.sys f:\login
        F:SYSTEM>logout

Step 4: Power Off PC and remove the Drive A from system then Power On Again.
        It will connect to Server by using Diskless way.


Install Bootconf.sys
--------------------
1. Rename the Net$dos.sys as the you want PRO120A.sys
2. Create Bootconf.sys file in sys:\login directory if you have
   multiple boot images. The Bootconf.sys file format is as below:

   Node ID Number = Boot images files

Example: Sigle Boot Images
0x0080AD000001 = ne2000.sys
0x0080AD000002 = PRO120A.sys

Example: Multiple Boot Images
0x0080AD000001 = ne2000.sys PRO120A.sys
0x*,* = ne2000.sys MXIC.sys   (All the node)

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
