           NSC DP83815 10/100Mbps MacPhyter3v PCI Adapter Installtion
                         for Client 32 for DOSWIN Users

 This document contains information on the following topics:

   A. Driver Installation Procedures on Clien32 for DOS :
   ------------------------------------------------------
     1.If you have completed installing the Netware Client 32 for DOS, all
       you have to do is to modify STARTNET.BAT. Please see the sample
       STARTNET.BAT above. If not, please follow the next step 2 - step 7.

     2.Run INSTALL.EXE from Netware Client 32 for DOS diskette 1 (or from
       Netware 4.11 CD). When the product manual appears, mark the
       "Netware Client 32 for DOS" item, then press <Enter>.

     3.Select "OTHER DRIVERS" item from "32-bit Network Board Drivers" menu,
       then press <Enter>.

     4.Insert "NSC DP83815 10/100Mbps MacPhyter3v PCI Adapter diskette",
       then specify the driver path A:\NETWARE\CLIENT32

     5.Select "NSC DP83815 PCI Ethernet Adapter":
       Select the desired parameters, then press <Enter>.

     6.Follow instructions to complete the Client32 for DOS software
       installation.

       Note: The LineSpeed default is Auto-negotiation.
             Other options are:
                LineSpeed=1             (Auto-negotiation)
                LineSpeed=2 FDUP=1      (10Mbps full-duplex)
                LineSpeed=2 FDUP=2      (10Mbps half-duplex)
                LineSpeed=3 FDUP=1      (100Mbps full-duplex)
                LineSpeed=3 FDUP=2      (100Mbps half-duplex)

     7.Reboot your machine.


   B. Driver Installation Procedures on Client32 for Windows 3.x :
   ---------------------------------------------------------------
     Refer to section A. On step 2, mark "Netware Client 32 for DOS" and
     "Client 32 for Windows". On step 4, specify the driver path like
     A:\NETWARE\CLIENT32\C83815.LAN, then following step 3..7 to complete 
     the installation.


   C. Sample Configuration Files:

     Note: the SLOT must be the correct value as found by the driver.


   D. Parameters supported by the C83815.LAN driver
   ------------------------------------------------

    SLOT      1 - Forces the driver to search for the specified board

    LineSpeed   - Select connection type of the NSC DP83815 10/100 PCI
                  adapter card.
                    = 1     Auto-Negotiation
                    = 2     Line speed = 10
                    = 3     Line speed = 100

    FDUP        - Select the duplex mode of the adapter card.
                  This parameter works only when LineSpeed is not set
                  to Auto-Negotiation.
                    = 1     Full duplex on
                    = 2     Full duplex off

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
