                         Pocket Lan Ethernet Card
                       Windows 95 Driver Installation
                      =================================

NOTE: While installing drivers to Windows 95, always have the Win95 CD-ROM or
      diskettes in hand.

Windows 95 driver for the Pocket Lan Ethernet Card
=======================================================================

1. From the Control Panel group, double-click on the Network program icon. The
   Network Windows screen appears.

2. From the Network window, click on "Add".  Then, double-click on  "Adapter".

3. Select "Have Disk".

4. Insert the driver diskette in Drive A and then specify the full path of the
   driver; that is, A:\WIN95.

   A list of network adapters appears on the screen.

5. Select "Pocket Lan Ethernet Adapter" .

6. Click OK.

7. After specifying the settings, click OK on the properties page to close
   the network windows.

   While copying the drivers, the system also needs the Win95 CD-ROM for
   copying other files in the D:\win95 directory (that is, if your
   CD-ROM is designated as your Drive D).

8. After copying the necessary files, select "Yes" to restart your computer.


Trouble Shooting:

1.  Before Install Pocket LAN Adapter, the win95 printer driver must be
    disable/remove from "System" window at "Control Panel".
    a) At the "system" window, select "Device Manager".
    b) In the subwindow of Device Manager, double click the "COM & LPT".
    c) Select "LPT1" then click the "Remove" button to remove
       the printer driver.

2.  If the printer device is the plug&play device, then the above steps will
    be failed to remove the printer driver.
    Before doing the above steps, you must use the text editor to modify
    "msports.inf" file at "\windows\inf" directory.

    a) Find the section like below in the msports.inf:

    c) save the modification and exit the text editor.
    d) follow the steps metioned at "trouble shooting 1" to remove the
       printer driver.
    e) Then follow the Win95 network driver installation steps
       to install the pocket ethernet driver.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
