This will install 1-Wire Drivers Version 4.00 on this computer. 1-Wire Drivers will enable 1-Wire applications to communicate with Dallas Semiconductor's iButton products on Microsoft Windows 95, 98, 2000, ME, and XP. Special Considerations for USB 1) Unplug any 1-Wire USB devices when prompted during installation to allow the device driver to be updated. 2) If the PC has never had a 1-Wire USB device on it, then plug it in when prompted to complete the USB install. 3) On a first-time install, please wait for the Add Hardware Wizard to run after plugging in the USB device. 4) If Add Hardware Wizard has a hard time finding the driver to install (DS2490.SYS), then then point the Hardware Wizard to it: (usually) C:\Program Files\Dallas Semiconductor\1-Wire Drivers Version 4.00 USB Adapter Enumeration Notes 1) The way 1-Wire USB adapter (specifically, the DS9490R or DS9490B) enumeration occurs is a bit different from other 1-Wire adapters as some TMEX USB port numbers are reserved. 2) The 1-Wire USB driver supports hot-swap for the default device on Port number 1. 3) Port numbers 2 though 15 are assigned to a particular adapter based on it's unique number. This port will remain the same even after the PC is rebooted or devices are removed and reinserted. 4) Port 0 is reserved for DS2490-based adapters with no unique number assigned. The 1-Wire Drivers installation comes with an optionally-installable, general purpose "OneWireViewer". This versatile software utility will enable you to examine, test, and maintain iButtons. Before upgrading to this version of 1-Wire Drivers, always remove any previous version with its uninstaller. To use the uninstaller in Windows 95/98/2K/ME/XP: 1. Click on the 'Start' button 2. Click on 'Settings' and then 'Control Panel' 3. Double-click on the 'Add/Remove Programs' icon in the 'Control Panel' 4. Select the '1-Wire Drivers' line in the 'Add/Remove Programs' window 5. Click OK at the bottom of the 'Add/Remove Programs' window 6. When asked if you want to remove all of 1-Wire Drivers, click OK.
