Installing the PE2000 NDIS4 Driver for Windows 95 (OSR2) --------------------------------------------------------- 1. Start Windows 95. 2. Insert the CardBus Fast EtherNet 10/100 PC card. 3. Allow the Plug and Play facility to install the PE2000 PC card. 4. When prompted for a disk, insert the PE2000 User Installation/ Diagnostics diskette. Installing the PE2000 NDIS4 Driver for Windows 98 --------------------------------------------------- 1. Start Windows 98. 2. Insert the CardBus Fast EtherNet 10/100 PC card. 3. "New Hardware Found window" will be diaplayed. 4. Cick Next in the Add New Hardware Wizard window. The installation options will be displayed. 5. Insert the PE2000 User Installation/Diagnostics diskette. 6. Select the "Choose Display a list of all the drivers in a specific location, so you can select the driver you want" option, then a:\, clicks Next to continue. 7. Choose "Floppy disk drive" option and specify a location such as then clicks Next to continue. 8. Select "The updated driver" option, then clicks Next to continue. 9. Follow the instructions shown on the screen to finish the installation. Installing the PE2000 NDIS3 Driver for Windows 95 -------------------------------------------------- Window 95 (versions 4.00.950 and 4.00.950a) does not support CardBus PC cards automatically. However, the PE2000 PC cards come with the drivers that support Windows 95. Before installing, you need to disable PC card support. I. Disabling PC Card Support ---------------------------- 1. In the Control Panel, double-click the System icon. 2. The System Properties window appears, click the Device Manager button. 3. Double-click PCMCIA Socket. 4. Click PCIC or compatible PCMCIA controller. 5. Click Remove. 6. The Removal Confirmation window appears. Click OK and the System Settings Change window will appear. When you restart the computer the first time after removing the PCIC device, you will be prompted to select a driver. Choose "Do not install a driver". This prompt will not be shown again. II. Installing the driver ------------------------- 1. Start Windows 95. 2. Insert in the CardBus Fast EtherNet 10/100 PC card. 3. Click the Start button at the lower left corner. 4. Choose Settings and click Control Panel. 5. In the Control Panel window, double-click the Network icon. 6. In the Network dialog box, click Add. 7. In the Select Network Component Type window, double-click Adapter. 8. In the Select Network Adapter, click Have Disk. Insert the PE2000 User Installation/Diagnostics diskette into the floppy drive. 9. Click OK and the Select Network Adapters window will appear. 10. Select the CardBus Fast Ethernet 10/100 PC Card Manual Load for Win95, and click OK. 11. In the Network window, click OK. The dialog box appears and displays various settings. An asterisk in any field indicates that the current setting is being used. Use the Up or Down arrow to adjust the setting until the asterisk disappears. 12. Click OK and the Copying Files window appears. 13. Insert your original Windows 95 CD and click OK. If Windows 95 was pre-installed on your computer, the necessary files are located in the following directory: C:\WINDOWS\OPTIONS\CABS 14. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
