Information about this file.

This file contains the BVRP Modem Test Customer Diagnostic for the 3Com 
Controller-based PCI Data/Fax/Voice modem (Hawk). It can be used with 
either the factory installed Windows ME or an upgrade to Windows ME from 
Windows 98SE. 

IMPORTANT: If your operating system was upgraded from Windows 98 to 
Windows ME, the previous version of customer diagnostics, 3Com Modem 
Manager, will not work properly with Windows ME. You will need to 
install this program to properly test your 3Com Hawk Data/Fax/Voice 
modem under Windows ME.

To remove the 3Com Modem Manager Utility:
1. Click on the START button and choose SETTINGS from the Start Menu.
2. Under the Settings submenu, choose CONTROL PANEL.
3. In Control Panel, select ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS.
4. In the Add/Remove Programs dialog box locate and select 3Com Modem 
Manager.
5. Click on the CHANGE/REMOVE button.
6. Click YES to confirm removal.
7. Click OK to complete removal.
8. Close the Add/Remove dialog box and Control Panel.

To install the BVRP Modem Test application:
1. Click on the START button and choose RUN from the Start Menu.
2. Type in C:\Dell\Drivers\metst\Setup.Exe in the dialog box.
3. Click OK to begin the installation.
4. Follow the screen prompts to complete the installation of the 
application.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
