How to install on Windows XP I modified the HP official drivers slightly so that they would work With windows XP using DESKSCAN. Ok then now the instructions: 1. Right Click My computer and click Properties 2. Click Hardware then click device manager 3. Look at the list of Hardware types find imaging devices and expand it 4. Right Click HP Scanjet 5p/ Hp C150A and then click Udpate Driver 5. Click Install from list or specific location then click next 6. Click Dont Search I will choose... Then Click Next 7. Click Have Disk then find this folder and click open 8. Click Ok then click on the Hewlett Packard Scanjet 5p Driver that has not got anything next to it on the left also the one that doesnt say Version.... 9. Click next When it says Not digitally Signed click Continue anyway 10. When it says finish click finish then when it asks to restart click no 11. Go into the folder where this is then double click on setup.exe 12. Follow the onscreen instructions then when it has finished restart your computer 13. You should now have fully working HP DESKSCAN with your HP Scanjet 5pDownload Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
