1. We only provide Graphic driver for Linux in current POR. 
   We have no plans to offer other drivers like USB, SMBus or AC97.

2. We are use Open Source (not binary code like MS Windows OS driver) to release Linux 845 Graphic driver.
   Customer need to get it from XFREE86 website: http://www.xfree86.org

   129. Add Intel i845G 2D support to the i8x0 driver, DRI is disabled. (#A.1062, Graeme Fisher, 2D3D).

   All instructions (download, build and install) are on the Xfree86 website.

5. Intel will submit new version of Graphic driver for 845G XVIDEO support in the next few weeks.
   Schedule: Late September.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
