Broadcomm driver install, install all of these utilites for this laptop. This will help with any hardware problems you may encounter. I kept having
a problem with the wireless adapter disabling itself
and pressing the wireless button on the laptop nor
repair in Windows XP would restore the wireless.

After much research on driveragent.com as well as some
downloads from compaq I now have a workable solution in case this unit doesn't allow the wireless to be re-enabled via software. In the past the wireless would not associate with WPA or WPA2 networks and now
it does with these utilities. It's still buggy but
it seems to work better than what I have had.

Install any prior drivers, and install these softpaqs.
