Windows XP Introduction: ------------- This document shows you how to setup the driver and how to use the enhanced functions by setting the custom keywords. Location of Driver: \WINXP\DLKRTS.SYS Installation: ------------- Before starting with the installation process, make sure that the adapter is properly installed and configured. 1.You will see there is an item: "D-Link DFE-538TX 10/100 Adapter" in the 'Network adapters' list in the Device Manager. The Device Manager can be invoked by choosing Start\Control Panel\ System\Hardware (Tag)\Device Manager (button) We recommend you to install the updated driver from the distributing disk by performing step 3 ~ 13. 2.If Windows XP has not built the driver for DFE-538TX, obey step 5 ~ 13 to install the driver. 3.Invoke the Device Manager. Right click the item "D-Link DFE-538TX 10/100 Adapter" in the 'Network adapters' list, and choose Properties. There will prompt the D-Link DFE-538TX 10/100 Adapter Properties window. 4.Click the Driver tag, and choose the 'Update Driver' button. There wll prompt a Hardware Update Wizard window. Click 'Next'. 5.The Wizard will ask you What do you want the wizard to do? Please choose Install from a list or specific location(Advanced) Click 'Next'. 6.There will prompt a 'Please choose your search and installation options' window. Please choose 'Don't Search. I will choose the driver to install' option. Click 'Next'. 7.There will prompt a "Hardware Type." window. Please select the Network adapters hardware type,and then click 'Next'. 8.Click 'Have Disk'. In 'Install From Disk' window, type the following path in the combo list: EX: E:\WINXP Click 'OK'. 9.There will show "D-Link DFE-538TX 10/100 Adapter" in the 'Network Adapter' field. Click 'Next'. 10.There will show "D-Link DFE-538TX 10/100 Adapter" in 'Hardware Installation' window. Click 'Next'. 11.Windows XP will copy the driver and system files for the network. If there prompts a " ...has not passed Windows Logo testing...", please click 'Continue Anyway' to continue the installation. 12.Click 'Finish' to close the wizard, and the updated driver will work for DFE-538TX. 13.You will see "D-Link DFE-538TX 10/100 Adapter" in the 'Network adapters' list, and restart the computer.Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
