PNP407D.EXE (1.4 MB). Released October 10, 2003. Version 4.07 backpack plug and play driver (version 4.17.00 for Microsoft Windows NT4). Installs latest backpack driver support for Microsoft Windows 95, 98, Me, 2000, XP, and NT4. Automatically replaces any previous backpack driver installations. Use this installer/uninstaller for all backpack rewriter, DVD/CD-ROM, and bantam models. Also supports backpack 8000t, pd/cd, and backpack hard drives (early backpack hard drive models with capacities below 850 MB may not be recognized by this software).

SCD401.EXE (3.8 MB). Released September 8, 2004. SpeedyCD version 4.01 disc creation software designed to work with all backpack cd-rewriter and dvd-rewriter models in Microsoft Windows 95, 98, Me, 2000, XP, and NT4. Includes user guide.

BPUDF208.EXE (1.7 MB). Released May 4, 2004. Backpack UDF version 2.08 packet-writing software for backpack cd-rewriter drives. For Microsoft Windows 95, 98, and Me only.

RWGUIDE.RTF (74 KB). Complete troubleshooting and usage guide for all backpack cd-rewriter models.

DOS (Directory). 16-bit DOS driver software package provides support for reading CD-ROMs under MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows 3.1x. It does not provide any writing support or PD Cartridge support. See README.TXT.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
