USB Plug and Play installation
===============================

- When the printer is connected to the Windows system over the USB connection, the following symptom
may be seen.
Plug and Play installation wizard is displayed on the Windows system when the printer is rebooted
after the installation.
When this wizard is displayed, select Finish and continue.


Printing from multiple MAC systems
==================================

- When very large jobs are sent from multiple MAC systems simultaneously, printer may not complete
printing all the pages.
In this event, please resend the jobs again to the printer.

Common notes for PS/PCL driver
==============================

- On Windows NT4.0, restart your system after installing/uninstalling the printer driver. To add the driver
for another version of Windows, please install them after the system is restarted.

- To collate the jobs on printer...
Disable the collate setting on the application if available, and enable the collate setting on printer driver.
Collation on printer can be used when Hard Disk is Enabled on the Configure Tab.

- In case the background of graphics is printed differently than the surrounding colors or patterns, please select Quality tab/Quick Color/Custom/Details... from the driver's properties and set "Same as Image Settings" for the Graphics setting in the Color Settings window.


Notes for PS driver
===================

- In Windows NT4.0 PS driver, the Euro currency symbol of the printer resident font could not be printed
properly.

- "Booklet" cannot be used with the following setting.
Port: SMB or Internet Port
Advanced Tab -> Advanced Printing Features: Disabled
Properties -> Advanced Tab -> Enable advanced printing features: Not checked

- In the "Point and Print" environment (Server:Win2003Server, Client:WinXP), there is a case that the
"Collate" function of printer driver may not work when using Microsoft Word.
In such case, please select the collate setting on the application.

- When printing with collation enabled by client PC in gPoint and Printhenvironment (Server: Win2003 Server, Win 2000 Server, WinNT4.0, Server Client: WinNT 4.0 workstation), collation may be invalid.  In this case,
please install the printer driver directly onto the client PC or enable
collation by application.

- When the Windows 98SE/NT 4.0 PS driver is installed as an Additional Driver under Windows 2003 Server, the required files may not be found even if the CD for each of the operating systems is inserted, and it may be impossible to install the printer driver. 
Please use the following method as a workaround. 
	* Insert the Windows NT 4.0: Windows NT 4.0 SP6a CD, and select and save the required files. 
	* Insert the Windows 98 SE: Windows 98 SE operating system CD, search for the required files, select the files and save them. 

- When installing the Windows 98Se PS driver on the Netware Broker, the Windows 98SE Operating System CD maybe required. Please copy the required cab file onto the PC, then browse the file at installation.


Notes for PCL driver
====================

- In CorelDRAW application, it may take long time to print the document or may cause "PCL XL error
(InsufficientMemory)" if the pattern like gradation is used to fill the object.
To solve this problem, please set CorelDRAW option as follows;
File->Print->Misc : Check "Rasterize entire page"

- In Microsoft Publisher, the document file may be closed unexpectedly.

- On Windows NT Server, to add the shared driver for the other version of Windows, please follow the steps
below.
Install the PCL driver from Add Printer Wizard.
Restart the Windows NT Server system.
Add the desired shared driver.


Printing from Windows XP LPR port
=================================

- If it is not printed properlly with LPR protocol in Windows XP,
click "LPR Byte Counting Enabled " in LPR setting.


Printing from Netware
=====================

- When you make Printer Agent via Netware's parallel connection, it may be not available to operate the control panel and to print out.
Please use any of the following ways as a workaround.
  - Reboot the printer after adding the printer to Netware.
  - Select "Compatible" both for Netware PC's BIOS setting and for Controller Type in Local Mode when adding Print Agent.
  - Please connect the printer to Netware via Network.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
