(Please Read EPSON CardMonitor)2003.06.20 =============================================================================================== Information concerning EPSON CardMonitor(Windows)Ver.1.2 =============================================================================================== EPSON CardMonitor cautions are described below. Please read printer's documentation about environment and specification. [Reinstalling the Software] If EPSON CardMonitor's operation becomes unstable, uninstall EPSON CardMonitor once, then reinstall the program. [Starting or Restarting the Computer with Memory Card Inserted] EPSON PhotoStarter will not start automatically if you start or restart your computer while a memory card is inserted. [Uninstalling EPSON CardMonitor] If you want to remove EPSON CardMonitor your system, use the Uninstaller from the Start menu. If you are using Windows XP, uninstall the software by selecting EPSON CardMonitor from Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel. EPSON PhotoStarter and EPSON Photo!4 must be uninstalled before uninstalling EPSON CardMonitor when EPSON PhotoStarter or EPSON Photo!4 is already installed. Note that it is not possible to uninstall the software if you do not have administrator's rights in Windows 2000 and Windows XP. Log in as an administrator in order to uninstall the software. [How to stop monitoring of the memory card by EPSON CardMonitor] For Windows 98, Windows Me, and Windows 2000 If you want to stop memory card monitoring by EPSON CardMonitor, right click the EPSON CardMonitor icon on the task bar, then select "Stop monitoring of the card slot", or select "Turn off monitoring" in "Specify memory card slot / PC card slot to be monitored" in the EPSON PhotoStarter setting assistant. For Windows XP EPSON CardMonitor does not perform monitoring. Disable "Startup CardMonitor" during the operations performed at automatic play in order to prevent the automatic startup of EPSON CardMonitor. [Cautions Concerning Memory Card Insertion] If a memory card is removed and inserted quickly, EPSON CardMonitor may not be able to detect insertion of the card. In this case, remove and then reinsert the memory card more slowly. Note that if you are using Windows 98, Windows Me, or Windows 2000 together with a PC card reader made by another company, depending on the driver provided with the product, EPSON CardMonitor may not be able to recognize that the memory card has been inserted or removed. It may also happen that the operating system is significantly slowed down. In such case, right-click the icon in the task bar and select [Turn off monitoring] or [Quit]. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
