The following is a step by step process to get your DTS-3050 scanner to work in winxp! 1. Run the setup.exe 2. Install and restart your system. 3. Extract the replace.zip files into your C:\WINDOWS\TWAIN_32\EASYTW\MAG3060 folder. 4. You will be ask to replace some files and click yes to all. 5. Run you image program and click aquire twain and then the twain window will appear. It will read MAG DTS-3060 @ the top but ignore this because I have modified the MAG DTS-3060 drivers to work with the MAG DTS-3050. NOTE: Your parallel port MODE sometimes called (LPT Mode, or LPT Enhanced Mode) must be EPP or ECP. Your parallel port IRQ should be 7. Your parallel port ADDRESS should be 378. To make sure these settings are setup check your BIOS under features setup. Also check your device manager in control panel and click properties on your LTP1 (aka printer port) and make sure under port settings that: 1.Use any interrupt assigned to the port is selected. 2.Enable legacy Plug and Play detection is selected. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
