The driver (EN1207D.SYS) contained in the directory WIN98 is for
the following HP PCI Ethernet adapter:

        HP EN1207D-TX PCI 10/100 Fast Ethernet Adapter

The driver (EN1207D.SYS) conforms to the Network Driver Interface
Specification (NDIS) 4.0, and used with Microsoft Windows 98.

(0) Configuring EN1207D-TX PCI Adapter Media Mode

   Before Installing your NDIS4 Driver, EN1207D-TX adapter can be set
   in Full/Half Duplex mode.(Please reference SET1207D.TXT)




(A) Installing NDIS4 Miniport driver on Microsoft Windows 98
=================================================================

    1. Plug HP's EN1207D-TX adapter into one of the Master PCI
       slots of your PCI platform.
    2. Turn power ON then boot from Windows 98.
    3. Windows 98 will prompt  "PCI Ethernet Controller"  in
       "New Hardware Found"  dialog box and  "Update Device Driver
       Wizard"  dialog box.
    4. Insert the HP EN1207D-TX Driver Diskette in your floppy drive.
    5. Click "Next >" button from  "Update Device Driver Wizard"
       dialog box.
    6. Windows 98 will prompt  "HP EN1207D-TX PCI 10/100 Fast Ethernet Adapter"
       in  "Update Device Driver Wizard" dialog box.
    7. Click "Finish" button from  "Update Device Driver Wizard"
       dialog box.
    8. Enter the full pathname A:\WIN98 of the EN1207D.INF file, then
       click OK button from  "Copying Files..."  dialog box.
    9. Following the screen's prompt to insert  "Windows 98 CD-ROM"
       and click OK button from  "Insert Disk" dialog box.
   10. Otherwise enter the full pathname of the "Windows 98 CD-ROM"
       installation files in "Copying Files..."  dialog box,
       then click OK button.
   11. Windows 98 will copy the driver (EN1207D.SYS) from A:\WIN98
       to C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory and the EN1207D.INF file from A:\WIN98
       to C:\WINDOWS\INF directory.
   12. Remove the HP EN1207D-TX Driver Diskette from your floppy drive.
   13. Restart your computer to take effect the network function.

       NOTICE !! C:\WINDOWS is the directory where your Windows 98
                 O.S. is located.



(C) Configuring NDIS4 Miniport driver on Microsoft Windows 98

    1. Click the  "My Computer"  icon in the Main Program Group.
    2. Click the  "Control Panel"  icon from My Computer window.
    3. Click the  "Network"  icon from the Control Panel window.
    4. Select  "HP EN1207D-TX PCI 10/100Fast Ethernet Adapter" item
       from  "Network"  dialog box, then click "Properties" button.
    5. Click "Advanced" button from  "HP EN1207D-TX PCI 10/100 Fast
       Ethernet Adapter Properties"  dialog box.
    6. Select the Line Speed value (Default,AutoDetect,100full,100half
       10full,10half)from "Value" item, then click OK button from  "HP
       EN1207D-TX PCI 10/100 Fast Ethernet Adapter Properties"  dialog box.
    7. Click OK button from  "Network"  dialog box.
    8. Restart your computer to take effect the new configuration.

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
