                 Microsoft Windows XP Driver Upgrade
                  for CardBus Fast Ethernet PC Card

  If you found out that when you insert you CardBus Fast Ethernet PC Card
  into an available PCMCIA socket, then a Winxp build-in driver with product
  name D-Link DFE-680TXD-Based CardBus Fast Ethernet Adapter is being installed
  by Winxp automatically without pop-up the "Find New Hardware Wizard" dialog
  box, then please follow the procedures below to upgrade the CardBus Fast
  Ethernet PC Card driver.

  1. From the Windows Desktop, click the Start menu, then choose
     My computer -> View system information -> Hardware -> Device Manager.
     Choose Network adapters from the list of devices.

  2. Choose D-Link DFE-680TXD-Based CardBus Fast Ethernet Adapter
     from the list, then choose Action Menu-> Properties.

  3. On the D-Link DFE-680TXD-Based CardBus Fast Ethernet Adapter
     Properties page, choose the Driver tab, then choose Update Driver.
     The Hardware Upgrade Wizard appears.

   4. Marks "Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)."
      Click Next to continue.

   5. On the Please choose your search and installation options page,
      marks "Don't search, I will choose the driver to install."
      Click Next.

   6. On the Select Network Adapter page, click Have Disk.

   7. On the Install From Disk page, choose Browse to point to the
      appropriate driver location like A:\WINXP.  The wizard should display
      the NETCB102 INF file at that location. Select the mentioned INF file
      then Choose Open.

   8. To install the new driver, choose OK -> Next.

   9. Then the OS will start copying the driver.

  10. Choose Finish to complete the driver installation.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
