INSTALLING OVER EXISTING TABLET DRIVERS
---------------------------------------
If you have previously installed tablet drivers on your system, you
must remove them and reboot your computer before attempting to install
the SummaSoft drivers. The Setup application will only remove
previously installed Summagraphics tablet drivers. For instructions on
removing drivers for a tablet manufactured by another company, you
should refer to the documentation supplied with that tablet.

BASIC INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
----------------------------
All tablet drivers are installed using the Summagraphics SETUP program
provided on the tablet drivers diskette. The SETUP program will
also allow you to install your drivers in a directory of your own
choosing.

Please read the other sections of this document specific to the driver(s)
you wish to install before doing the installation.

After you have connected your tablet to your computer's serial port and
connected the tablet power supply, follow this procedure to install or
remove drivers:

  - Boot up Windows 95.

  - Close all open applications, and disable any active Virus Detection
    software.

  - Insert the Summagraphics driver diskette into your computer.

  - From the Start menu select Run and enter A:\SETUP
(or B:\SETUP), and then press Enter.

  - Follow the instructions presented on the computer screen. The
Summagraphics SETUP program allows you to selectively install or
remove any or all of the available drivers for your tablet. When
the driver selection screen is presented, be sure to mark only those
drivers you wish to install or remove.

Note: The cordless pointing devices automatically deactivate themselves
after a few minutes of non-use. Simply press button one on the
pointing device to reactivate the device. Button one is the tip on
      the pen.

USING THE TABLET WITHOUT A MOUSE
--------------------------------
If you will be using the tablet without a mouse, you will need to install
the Summagraphics Proxy Mouse Driver, included on this diskette.
Unfortunately, this driver cannot be installed along with the standard
tablet driver; it must be installed separately. To install the Proxy Mouse
Driver:

  - Open the Control Panel (found in the Start Menu under Settings).

  - Start the "Add New Hardware" applet. When asked if you would like
Windows to find your new hardware, answer "No". (This will save a
    lot of time.)

  - When asked the type of device you are installing, pick "Mouse".

  - Click on "Have disk" when asked to select your device. Insert the
    SummaSoft Driver Diskette when prompted.

  - Choose "Summagraphics Proxy Mouse".

When installation is complete, you may need to restart your computer for
the tablet to now act as your mouse.

REMOVING THE 95 DRIVER
----------------------
The drivers should be removed using the Windows 95 standard Add/Remove
Programs Control Panel. This will automatically remove all driver files
and associated Registry entries. You must reboot your computer to
complete the removal process.

AUTOCAD NOTES
-------------
AutoCAD release 13c4 or greater is required.

BUTTON ASSIGNMENTS: When using cursor buttons in the autocad screen menu
area the buttons act as the defined mouse buttons. If you move out of the
screen menu area into the template area the cursor buttons use the button
definitions in the ACAD.MNU file. If you want to use the ACAD.MNU
definitions in the screen menu area set the Summagraphics Control Panel
button definitions to none.

ADOBE PHOTOSHOP NOTES
---------------------
Adobe Photoshop release 3.05 supports the WINTAB32 standard under 95 and
properly recognizes and uses pressure data from the Summasoft 95 drivers.
