- Matrox supports "Intl 1" software in the following languages:
English, French, German, Italian and Spanish.

- Windows 95/98/Me/2000 and Windows NT 4.0 drivers are
automatically installed by the main CD-ROM install program, called
  "mgasetup.exe".

- Other drivers must be installed individually from their
respective directories. For more information, see below.

* Display drivers for Windows 3.1 and Linux aren't available
on this CD-ROM. Check the Matrox Web site for these display
drivers. Other operating systems aren't supported.

OS/2
====

Driver installation
-------------------
(1) Restart your computer in VGA mode:

     (a) During startup, press [Alt]+[F1] when "OS/2" appears in
the top-left corner of your screen.

     (b) From the on-screen menu, choose to restart in VGA mode.

(2) Insert the Matrox CD-ROM in your CD-ROM drive.

(3) In "Presentation Manager" (PM), double-click "OS/2 System",
     then click "Drives".

(4) Double-click the icon for your CD-ROM drive, then double-click
     "os2" > "install.cmd".

(5) Enable the Primary "Display" check box, then click "OK".

(6) Select "MATROX G400/G450, MGA Millennium/Mystique/MGA-G100/MGA-
G200 Driver v2.50" in the list box, then click "OK".

(7) Type "d:\os2\" (where "d" is the letter of your CD-ROM drive),
     then click "Install".

(8) After files are copied to your computer, restart your computer
     for changes to take effect.

If this is a first-time installation, "OS/2" restarts in the
default display settings for Matrox drivers (640 x 480 display
area, 256 colors). For information on the Matrox driver for "OS/2",
see the "os2\readme.os2" text file on the Matrox CD-ROM.

Display settings
----------------
To open the "MGA Settings" program, double-click its icon on the PM
desktop. Use this program to change display settings like
resolution, color palette, font size, EnDIVE (Enhanced Direct
Interface Video Extensions), a hardware-zoom hot key, and to see
display information.

Monitor settings
----------------
If you have a Plug-and-Play (DDC) monitor, the Matrox display
driver automatically uses correct settings for your monitor. If you
don’t have a DDC monitor and a monitor is not selected in Matrox
software, the driver uses default settings. Use "MGA Settings" to
select a monitor.

Online guides
=============

Path Product
---- -------
\acrobat Adobe Acrobat Reader, v3.01 (32-bit)
\doc Online guides

Matrox provides online guides as Adobe Acrobat Portable Document
Format (PDF) files. To view or print PDF files under Windows
95/98/Me/2000 and NT 4.0, use Adobe Acrobat Reader. You can install
this program with the CD-ROM install program.

DirectX
=======

Path Product
---- -------
\directx Microsoft DirectX 7.0

DirectX files are automatically installed by the main CD-ROM
install program. This software is for Windows 95/98 only.

Matrox System Utilities
=======================

This software includes:
  - Graphics card BIOS support
  - 8 x 14 font support

From Windows 95/98/Me/2000 or NT 4.0, you can install this software
from the main menu of the CD-ROM setup program. From a DOS prompt,
you can install this software by running the
"sysutil\files\install.exe" program on the CD-ROM.

For more information on "Matrox System Utilities", see the "readme"
file included with this software ("sysutil\files\readme.txt").

Notes, problems and limitations
===============================

- For Matrox software updates to fix some, most, or all of the
problems listed here, see the Matrox Web site
  (www.matrox.com/mga).

- Under Windows 95/98, we recommend that Microsoft DirectX 7.0 or
later be installed. DirectX 7.0 is available on this CD-ROM. If
this software isn't installed or an older version is installed,
the CD-ROM setup program automatically installs DirectX 7.0.

- Under Windows 95/98/Me/2000, if you manually try to install
Microsoft DirectX software from your Matrox CD-ROM and a more
recent version of this software was previously installed on your
computer, the setup program may not work properly. If you need to
reinstall DirectX, try downloading the most recent version from
  Microsoft Web site (www.microsoft.com).

- If you have a Pentium III computer and you're using Windows 95,
Direct3D programs may not work properly. (With a Pentium III
computer, Direct3D programs work properly under Windows 98/Me.)

- For 3D Studio Max and TrueSpace under Windows 95/98/Me/2000, we
recommend you configure these programs to use Direct3D
  acceleration.

- Note the following limitations related to the OpenGL drivers
  available on this CD-ROM:

    - While using "DualHead Multi-Display" mode under
      Windows 95/98/Me, 3D hardware acceleration isn't available
for OpenGL programs. Under Windows 2000 and NT 4.0, OpenGL
acceleration IS available while using "DualHead Multi-
Display" mode (as long as you're not using another graphics
      card at the same time).

    - Using 3D Studio Max 2.0, you may experience problems with the
viewports being improperly redrawn. If this happens, simply
click in a viewport to properly update their display. (This
problem isn't present with version 2.5 or later of 3D Studio
      Max.)

- Under Windows 95/98/Me, you may experience problems using "The
60's USA" screen saver included with the Windows Plus Pack.

- Under Windows 95, the Matrox CD-ROM setup program may not work
properly. If you experience this problem, you may have to
manually install the display driver and Microsoft DirectX
software. To install the display driver, run the "setup" program
in the "Win9x" folder, then follow the on-screen instructions. To
install DirectX, run the "dx70eng" program in the "DirectX"
folder, then follow the on-screen instructions.

- If your computer has an AMD processor (for example, a AMD K6-3)
and you experience problems with DVD playback, you should contact
the manufacturer of your motherboard for a possible software
update that may fix this problem.
