      Windows XP solution

      We offer now a solution to install a Windows 2000 driver under Windows XP 
      for following models:

      Blackwidow- 648 Home, 1248 Home, 1248 Pro, 1248 Pro+.

      1. Insert the Blackwidow driver CD in your CD-ROM drive and cancel the 
      automatic installation.
      2. Download the Windows XP Fix to your PC and start it (double-click).
      3. After choosing your language there is a dialog box. In this dialog box 
      please choose the RUN.EXE file located on the Blackwidow CD-ROM in your 
      CD-ROM drive.

      When Prompted with the Microsoft Digital Signature, click continue to 
      complete the scanner installation.
      The installation should proceed as normal and install your scanner in 
      Windows XP.


      If you still experience problems after trying the above then please try 
      altering the compatibility mode as shown below.

      1. Insert the Blackwidow driver CD in your CD-ROM drive and cancel the 
      automatic installation.
      2. Browse onto the Cd Rom Drive and right mouse click on the "Run" icon
      3. Choose properties
      4. Select the 'Compatibility' tab.
      5. Choose Windows 2000 in the compatibility list and click on OK.
      6. Now double click on the "Run" file.
      7. The installation will proceed as normal.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
