         NDIS 2 Driver for IBM LAN Server Installation           


   A) DOS LAN Requester Installation for LSP V1.30 to V1.37
   B) LAN Server 4.0 DOS Client Installation


A) DOS LAN Requester Installation for LSP V1.30 to V1.37
   =====================================================

1. Insert the IBM LAN Support Program (LSP) Version 1.30 (or 1.31 to 1.37)
   Diskette into your floppy drive (drive A: or B:).

2. From DOS command prompt, enter the following and press <Enter>:

      A:>dxmaid

3. A screen with IBM logo appears.  Press <Enter> twice until the
   "Environment Information" appears.

4. For each field, specify the following values: (Use the <Space Bar> to 
   toggle between choices)

          Configuration for this computer?          Yes
          Use existing configuration information?   Yes
          Do you have adapter option diskettes?     Yes
          Are you configuring for two adapters?     No
          Do you need 802.2 interface support?      No
          Source for LSP                            A:\
          Target for new configuration              C:\lsp

5. Press <Enter> to save your the configurations..

6. Insert the EN2220 Driver Disk in the diskette drive.  Enter either  
   "A:\NDIS\DOS" or "B:\NDIS\DOS" and press the Enter key.

7. The system copies the files from the Driver Disk to the selected directory 
   on the hard disk.

8. Follow instructions on screen to complete the process. Wait until the 
   installation program prompts you to insert the LSP diskette.

9. Insert the LSP diskette and press <Enter> to proceed.

10. A screen showing the current configuration appears.  It should show the 
    Accton EN2220 Fast Ethernet CardBus PC Card and the protocols already 
    selected (e.g. "IBM IEEE 802.2" and "IBM OS/2 NETBIOS").

11. Press <F4> to save the new configuration. This completes the LSP
    installation.

12. Use a text editor to edit the CONFIG.SYS file.  Specify at least 20 file
    in the FILES= line as follows:

        FILES=20

13. Save the configuration and restart your computer.

14. Insert the DOS LAN Requester Installation Diskette into your floppy drive.

15. Type:

        INSTALL    <Enter>

16. The IBM logo appears on the screen.  Press <Enter> to proceed.

17. Follow instructions on the screen to proceed with the installation.  Wait 
    until you are prompted to indicate the pathname of the DOS LAN Requester
    directory.

18. Specify the path name for the DOS LAN Requester directory (C:\DOSLAN is the
    default).  Press <Enter> to continue.

19. The program prompts you for the required services.

20. Highlight the appropriate option.  Select either the "Send messages" or
    the "Send, View, Edit, and Log message" option.

        TIP: Normally, the second option "Send, View, Edit
             and Log message" is selected.

21. Specify the PC's ID and domain ID.  The domain ID is the domain server ID;
    it should be the same for all workstations of the network.

22. Follow screen prompts to complete the installation.


B) LAN Server 4.0 DOS Client Installation
   ======================================

1.  From the DOS command prompt, change directory to the LAN Server DOS 
    Client subdirectory, e.g.  enter the following command:

                CD \NET

    Note: Before installing the LAN driver, you should have installed IBM 
          LAN Server DOS Client first.  \NET is the default directory for
	  LAN Server 4.0 DOS Client.

2.  Type "INSTALL <Enter>" to invoke the DOS LAN installation program.

3.  When the "Install for DOS LAN Services" screen appears, highlight the
    "the listed options are correct" option and press <Enter>.

4.  On the second screen, you will see the following information:
    Machine ID, User name, Domain name,... and Network card information.
    Highlight "Network card   : No network card was selected" and press <Enter>.

5.  Select "Add driver for network card."

6.  A list of network adapters appears.  Select "Network card not shown in 
    list below." 

7.  Insert the Accton EN2220 driver disk in  drive A: and specify the path of 
    driver installation file (OEMSETUP.INF) by typing A:\DOS and press <Enter>.

8.  Highlight "Accton EN2220 Fast Ethernet CardBus PC Card" and press
    <Enter>.

9.  Select "Edit settings for network card driver" to configure the driver.

10. Highlight "The listed options are correct" and press <Enter>.

11. When the Installation Program prompts you to insert the DOS LAN Services
    Disk 1, press <Enter> and wait for installation to complete.

12. Remove the diskette from driver A: and press <Enter> to restart the machine.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
