   Full/Half Duplex Support

   Duplex support for the Intel EtherExpress PRO/100 ISA adapter
   ==============================================================
   Duplexing is a performance option that lets you choose how the
   adapter sends and receives packets over the network.

   There are three duplex modes:

   * Auto-negotiate. The adapter negotiates with the hub how to
      send and receive packets, either full or half duplex.

   * Full duplex (requires full-duplex switching hub). The adapter
      sends and receives packets at the same time, increasing adapter
      performance.

   * Half duplex. The adapter performs one operation at a time; it
      either sends or receives.

   Configuring Duplex
   ==================
   If you have an auto-negotiating switch (NWay* switch), the PRO/100
   adapter will automatically match the duplex setting at the switch.
   If you don't have an auto-negotiating switch, you'll need to
   manually configure the adapter and the switch for full duplex support.

   Configuration is specific to the driver you're loading for your
   NOS. See the Installation Guide, the KEYWORD readme file and the readme
   for your network operating system.

   Because full duplex requires a point-to-point connection, full duplex
   mode can omly be used when connecting to a switch, or to another LAN
   adapter using a crossover cable. You can not use full duplex when
   connecting to a hub or repeater.
