BUG FIXES
This release includes all bug fixes from any previous version of driver
software release for the supported adapters.
KNOWN LIMITATIONS
PortAssist Viewer:
PortAssist Viewer is the diagnostics application used to troubleshoot problems
on your WAN connections. There is no Start menu link to run PortAssist Viewer.
Select "Start|Run" and type "Digiview".
PortAssist Manager:
PortAssist Manager is the web based monitoring tool for Acceleport Xp,
Acceleport RAS and DataFire RAS adapters. If you reconfigure or install
adapters while PortAssist Manager is running, you will be prompted to
reboot for those changes to take affect.
RAS Adapters:
On Channelized T1 Wink Start Trunks without dial tone supervision,
modems must be initialized with ATX3 for dial out.
When configuring dial up modem service for a line, all modems on the
line should be configured since incoming calls may be assigned to any
channel.
On ISDN Trunks, the following rules are applied to modem dial strings:
a) A comma (delay) in the first or second position is allowed.
b) then the first non-numeric character terminates the dial
string (e.g. 9,12345678 is a valid dial string and
9,1,234-5678 is not).
AccelePort Xp Adapters:
RTS toggle is not supported.
SYNC Adapters:
When using the SDLC interface, the maximum BTU (Basic Transmission
Unit) is limited to 521 bytes. This is a known limitation of the
IBM SDLC link service provided in SNA Server. See the Microsoft SNA
article, "Maximum BTU Limit for Dumb SDLC Interface" for more
information.
Sync/570 Adapters:
Do not install multiple Sync/570 adapters in your system.
Beta release K5P supports one Sync/570 adapter
DRIVER INSTALLATION NOTES FOR WINDOWS 2000
Note: Update Driver functionality is not currently supported. If you have
already installed drivers for your adapter, you must uninstall them first.
Otherwise, skip to step 2.
1. Uninstall previously installed drivers. From "Control Panel" run
"Add/Remove Hardware" wizard. Follow instructions to "Uninstall" your
Digi DataFire adapter(s).
2. Run the program DgClean.cmd to remove existing INF files for your
adapter. This will ensure the new drivers will be installed correctly.
Dgclean.cmd is located in the folder with your downloaded drivers.
3. Shutdown your computer and install the adapter according to the
"Hardware Installation Instructions" included with the adapter.
4. Start your computer and login. When the "Found New Hardware Wizard"
appears, follow instructions to "Search for a suitable driver for my
device". Specify the folder in which you downloaded the driver.
5. Windows will display a "Digital Signature Not Found" message, explaining
that the drivers are not signed. Click "Yes" to continue the installation.
You will see several of these warnings, click "Yes" to continue through all
of them.
6. Follow instructions to complete the installation.
7. The "Found New Hardware Wizard" may appear several times more depending
on the number and type of adapters you are installing.
