Solution-Pac / WAN Installation

Solution-Pac / WAN is a set of software which can manage uninterruptible power supply (UPS) through the network.

With this type of setup, the following products are available :

- UM-Agent : a program which monitors the information from your MGE UPS SYSTEMS UPS and switchable plugs.
This program manage the communication between the UPS and the network. It is used to connect the UPS to the computer network and to send data from the UPS to any SNMP manager.

- UM-Client : a program which protect the computer system. It is used to send alarms from the UPS to users. In case of power failures and imminent shutdown for example.
If necessary, it starts automaticaly a graceful shutdown of your system.

- The manager : a practical management program and powerful management tool for MGE UPS SYSTEMS UPSs supplying power to network devices. It offers useful features for monitoring and evaluating UPS activity and performance.
The managers lets you manage one or more UPS's through the network.

UM-Client, UM-Agent and the manager can operate locally on a given workstation, as client or server, or in a multi-server, multi-OS environment. In all cases, these products use TCP/IP.

In general, UM-Agent is installed on server workstations (the workstation supplied by the UPS). UM-Client is installed on any workstation than requires protection (server or client workstation) and the manager is installed on a management workstation.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
