This README.TXT covers information that was not yet known 
or available when the user documentation shipped with this 
was written. This text file includes update information, 
additional installation instructions, limitations to the 
current version of the product, and suggestions to solve
known issues or problems.

1.  SOFTWARE DESCRIPTION

1.1 Directory tree
    The following directory tree will be created in the
    directory specified during setup:

    ...\WaveLAN\WaveMANAGER\CLIENT IEEE
                           \LOG
1.2 Files Installed
    The following files will be installed in the directory
    ..\CLIENT IEEE during setup:

    WMAN_CL.EXE
    WMAN_CL.HLP
    WMAN_CL.CNT
    README.TXT

2.  SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

2.1 Free Disk Space
    To install and run the software you will need 2 MB
    of free disk space.

3.  NEW IN THIS RELEASE

3.1 The Site Monitor function has been added. This function
    enables the WaveLAN station user to obtain and display
    information about Access Points that are within range,
    including real-time measured  connection  quality
    information of the communication links.
    Note 1: This function requires the new NDIS Miniport
    driver (version 1.32), and the new Station Functions
    firmware (version 1.18).
    The new WaveMANAGER/CLIENT can work with older driver
    and firmware, but then it will not make the Site Monitor
    function available.
    Note 2: This function, while in operation can cause normal
    data messages sent to this station to be lost.

3.2 Corrects the following errors:
    The WaveMANAGER/CLIENT incorrectly reported a
    Hardware/Firmware mismatch with STA Functions
    firmware 1.16.

4.  INSTALLATION NOTES

4.1 Standard Installation
    Installation procedures are described in the 'Getting
    Started Guide' or 'User's Guide' that came with your
    WaveLAN product. Please refer to these documents for 
    information about installing and configuring your 
    WaveLAN product.
    WaveLAN User documentation is also available in 
    electronic format on the WaveLAN Web Site
    (http://www.wavelan.com)
    You can download the documentation in Adobe's Acrobat
    Portable Document Format (PDF). To view or print PDF
    files you will need the freeware Acrobat Reader that 
    can be downloaded from the Adobe Web Site 
    (http://www.adobe.com/acrobat)
