        The ODI driver program allows you to run multiple protocol
        stacks and install up to two network adapters in a workstation.
        This ODI driver supports the Port, Node Address, Protocol and
        Frame options for creating your own NET.CFG file. For more
        information on these keywords, please refer to Novell's
        "NetWare ODI shell for DOS - NET.CFG options". This installation
        assumes that the drivers are working properly. Please consult
        INST_OS2.TXT for help with PC Card Drivers. Getting Started will
        describe the installation instructions.


 Getting Started
 ÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍ
    The NOVELL installation diskettes or CD ROM are needed to
    complete this install.

    Make sure the instruction on enabling the card under OS/2 are followed
    precisly to minimize problems. Please see INST_OS2.TXT
    for installation tips.

    Install the Requester on the workstation.  For information on the
    installation procedure, please refer to Novell's "NetWare Requester
    for OS/2" manual.

    Below install procedure support OS/2 version 3.0 or above only.


    First installation from CD ROM
    ÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ
         Please make sure CD ROM player work fine under OS/2 environment.
         Open drive for CD ROM and Run INSTALL.EXE for Netware Clinet
          for OS/2.

           Ex. Click Driver E -> "PRODUCTS"  -> "OS/2" ->
               "IBM_6" -> "INSTALL.EXE" -> "English".
               Driver E is CD ROM drive.

         Please reference readme of the screen for detail.

         Click "Installation" and select "Requester on workstation...".

         Specify the target path for install Requester files and
          the source path that include the Requester files.

          Ex. C:\NETWARE        ; C is target drive
              E                 ; CD ROM drive

         Accept the default of "Edit CONFIG.SYS and Copy All Files..."
          in Requester Installation window.

         Specify the ODI for OS/2 driver in Step 1 - Choose the ODI LAN
          Driver window.

          Ex. DE65SODI.SYS

         Select "Global NetWare Shell Support" in Step 2 - Choose
          NetWare Support for DOS and Windows Applications window.
          . Please reference Help for detail.

         Following screen's instruction and accept the default of
          install message.

         Click "Cancel" in Copy ODI LAN Driver Files windows.

         Please insert release driver diskette into floppy disk.

         Open another OS/2 window and copy ODI for OS/2 driver to
          NetWare Client for OS/2 target path.

          1. Use Install program of release diskette to copy
             below files to Client for OS/2 target path.
             Specify target path, then the install
             program will copy these files automatically.

             Ex. C:\NETWARE        ; C is target drive

           2. Copy fils by user
              A:\NETWARE\CLIENT\ODI.OS2 is source path.
              C:\NETWARE is target path

              >COPY A:\CLIENT.OS2\DCD16.OS2 C:\NETWARE
              >COPY A:\CLIENT.OS2\DCDOPEN.OS2 C:\NETWARE
              >COPY A:\NETWARE\CLIENT\ODI.OS2\DE65SODI.SYS C:\NETWARE
              >COPY A:\NETWARE\CLIENT\ODI.OS2\NET.CFG  C:\NETWARE

         Add both DCD16.OS2 and DCDOPEN.OS2 client driver and
          modified CONFIG.SYS.

          Ex. >E C:\CONFIG.SYS

         Please add two line as below:

          REM -- ODI-Driver Files BEGIN --
          DEVICE=C:\NETWARE\DCD16.OS2  /iop=300 /irq=11  --> add
          DEVICE=C:\NETWARE\DCDOPEN.OS2                  --> add
          DEVICE=C:\NETWARE\DE65SODI.SYS
          REM -- ODI-Driver Files END --

          /iop=300 mean I/O base address is 300
          /irq=11  mean Interrupt number is 11
          Above two item must the same as configuration of NET.CFG.

         Return to NetWare Workstation for OS/2 Installation Utility
          window.

         Click "Configuration" and select "This workstation...".

         Specify the full target path of NET.CFG file and Edit.

          Ex. C:\NETWARE\NET.CFG

          Content of NET.CFG
          ------------------
          Link Driver DE65SODI
               port 300
               int 11
               Frame Ethernet_802.3

          Netware Requester
                  default login drive F

         Please reference NET.CFG Option Information window to edit
          your own configuration file, Click "Save".

          Ex. Click "Usage"  and "Description"

         Reboot your system then the chnages to take effect.

         Click "NetWare Tools" to login NetWare server in Novell window.



    The other time installation
    ÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ
         Assume your OS/2 Warp and NetWare Client for OS/2 system
          have been install successfully.

         Please insert release driver diskette into floppy disk.

         Open OS/2 window and copy ODI for OS/2 driver to
          NetWare Client for OS/2 target path.

          1. Use Install program of release diskette to copy
             below files to Client for OS/2 target path.
             Specify target path, then the install
             program will copy these files automatically.

             Ex. C:\NETWARE        ; C is target drive

           2. Copy fils by user
              A:\NETWARE\CLIENT\ODI.OS2 is source path.
              C:\NETWARE is target path

              >COPY A:\CLIENT.OS2\DCD16.OS2 C:\NETWARE
              >COPY A:\CLIENT.OS2\DCDOPEN.OS2 C:\NETWARE
              >COPY A:\NETWARE\CLIENT\ODI.OS2\DE65SODI.SYS C:\NETWARE
              >COPY A:\NETWARE\CLIENT\ODI.OS2\NET.CFG  C:\NETWARE

         Run the INSTALL.EXE on Client for OS/2 target path.

          Ex. >CD C:\NETWARE               ; C is target drive
              >INSTALL.EXE                 ;
                                           ; NETWARE is default path

         Click "Installation" and select "Requester on workstation...".

         Specify the target path for install Requester files and
          the source path that include the Requester files.

          Ex. C:\NETWARE        ; C is target drive

         Select "Only Edit CONFIG.SYS..." in Requester Installation
          window.

         Specify the ODI for OS/2 driver in Step 1 - Choose the ODI LAN
          Driver window and click "Continue".

          Ex. DE65SODI.SYS

         Select "Global NetWare Shell Support" in Step 2 - Choose
          NetWare Support for DOS and Windows Applications window.
          . Please reference Help for detail.

         Following screen's instruction and accept the default of
          install message.

         After system update CONFIG.SYS, add both DCD16.OS2 and
          DCDOPEN.OS2 client driver and modified CONFIG.SYS.

          Ex. >E C:\CONFIG.SYS

         Please add two line as below:

          REM -- ODI-Driver Files BEGIN --
          DEVICE=C:\NETWARE\DCD16.OS2  /iop=300 /irq=11  --> add
          DEVICE=C:\NETWARE\DCDOPEN.OS2                  --> add

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
