SECTION ONE: INTRODUCTION 1.1 Introduction This document describes the procedure to install the PRI driver on Windows NT Server V4.0. The PRI Windows NT driver is an NDIS miniport driver with TAPI extensions and WAN wrapper. This document assumed that you have already installed TCP/IP and RAS and are familiar with their operations. Please refer to the Microsoft Windows NT documentation for a more detail description of these two components. 1.2 System requirements ( Microsoft Windows NT Server version 4.0 (with Service Pack 3). ( Pentium/100 or faster PC with at least 32MB of main memory. ( One free full length ISA bus slot. ( 2MB of free hard disk space. ( One Primary Rate ISDN circuit. 1.3 Files on Distribution Diskette The following files exists on the floppy diskette: readme Additional last-minute information if exists. oemsetnt.inf Config file for the Windows NT installation procedure. atcompri.sys The device driver file. prisdn32.exe Command line configuration and debug utility. isdn.bat Batch file to launch prisdn32.exe. isdn.cfg Config file for prisdn32.exe. 1.4 Support Any problems or questions regarding this product can be submitted by email to support@multitech.com. SECTION TWO: INSTALLATION 2.1 Hardware Installation Please follow the procedure described in the PRI Host COMM Management Interface User Reference Manual to configure and install the PRI adapter board into a ISA bus slot of your computer. 2.2 Driver Installation Step 1: Turn on power to your computer and boot up and log into Windows NT. Then follow the remaining steps to install the driver. Step 2: From the Desktop, double-click on the My Computer icon. Step 3: Double-click on the Control Panel icon. Step 4: Double click on the Network icon. This is the place to install, remove, or configure any network related adapters or drivers including TCP/IP and RAS. Make sure that Remote Access Service is already installed. Step 5: Click on Adapters and then Add... to bring up the Select Network Adapter window. Step 6: Click on the Have Disk button and the Insert Disk window is displayed. Give the pathname where the files are located on the harddrive. Make sure you have the proper drive name in the window. Click on the OK button. Step 7: The Select OEM Option window is displayed to show that you are installing the PRI ISDN adapter driver. Click on the OK button. Step 8: A Bus Location window is now displayed. Choose IO Port 2F0, IRQ 7, DMA memory D000:0 Step 9: The installation procedure now proceeds to copy all the necessary files from the floppy disk into the proper directories on your hard disk. One file is copied to your Windows NT directory %SystemPath%\system32\drivers: atcompri.sys. The Setup Message window is displayed when the file copying is done. Click on the OK button. Step 10: At this point, the PRI driver installation is finished. RAS and TCP/IP need to be configured now so that Windows NT can access the new ISDN devices. Just click on OK. Step 11: The Remote Access Setup window is being brought up automatically. An entry for each of the B-channels on the PRI needs to be added. The twenty-three B-channels show up as port names of ISDN (x) to ISDN (x+22) and device name of ATcommPRI. Select the dial-in and dial-out capability for each channel from the Configure button. When you are finished adding the entries, click on the Network button. Step 12: The Network window is displayed. Choose TCP/IP as the dial out protocol as well as what is allowed running on remote clients. Also click on the radio button that allows any authentication including clear text. Click on the Configure button next to the TCP/IP checkbox to bring up the RAS Server TCP/IP Configuration window. Only allow remote TCP/IP clients to access this computer only and use static address pool. Step 13: Click on Close when finished then click on Continue at the Remote Access Setup window. The system will then rebuild all the network bindings and reconfigure all the affected protocol stacks. When it is done, the Network Settings Change window will show up. Click on Yes button to restart Windows NT in order for the new settings to take effect. Please also eject the diskette from the floppy drive at this time. 2.3 Remote Access Admin If you have one or more ports configured to accept incoming calls, then you can bring up the Remote Access Admin to monitor the incoming call progress. Remote Access Admin is accessed from the Start menu under Programs and then Administrative Tools (Common).Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
