         Driver Installation Guide for Windows For Workgroups 3.11
      ===============================================================

Introduction
============
    This document describes the procedure to install NDIS 2.0 driver on
    MS Windows for Workgroups 3.11 OS for AF-680 10/100Mbps Fast Ethernet
    PC Card.

    These drivers conform to the Network Driver Interface Specification
    (NDIS 2.01) defined by Microsoft.

    Location of Driver:   \NDIS2\DOS\AF680.DOS
    Location of Enabler:  \EN680.EXE


Installation Procedure
======================

    1. Turn your computer off.

    2. Install the AF-680 Fast Ethernet PC Card to your computer.

    3. After the PC Card installation, turn your computer on and start
       your Windows for Workgroups 3.11.

    4. Select the Network Setup icon in the Network program group.

    5. In the Network Setup panel, choose the "Drivers..." button.

    6. In the Network Drivers panel, choose the "Add Adapter..." button.

    7. Select "Unlisted or Updated Network Adapter" item bar on the Adapter
       list.

    8. When system prompts you to insert driver diskette and enter the path
       of the driver directory. Insert the driver diskette into drive A: or
       B: and enter A:\NDIS2\DOS or B:\NDIS2\DOS.

    9. "AF-680 10/100Mbps Fast Ethernet PC Card" appears in the list and
       select it, then Select "OK" bar.

   10. "AF-680 10/100Mbps Fast Ethernet PC Card [NDIS2]" bar appears.
       It indicates the NDIS driver has been copied into your Windows
       system.

   11. An adapter configuration dialogue box will be displayed. Select the
       correct Interrupt(IRQ) Value that is selected on your adapter card.
       The default value is 5.

   12. Press the "OK" button when the Interrupt value has been set
   correctly.

   13. Another adapter configuration dialogue box will be displayed. Select
       the correct Base I/O Port.  The default value is 0x300.

   14. Press the "OK" button when the Base I/O Port value has been set
       correctly.

   15. Select "Close" bar and then Select "OK" bar.

   16. Windows prompts you to insert several WFW system diskettes.

   17. When message "Windows Setup has modified your SYSTEM.INI and
       PROTOCOL.INI........" appears, select "OK" bar.

   18. Select "Return to DOS" bar.

   19. Before restart your system, add Enabler(EN680.EXE) on CONFIG.SYS
       file. And check out if you using any memory management (EMM386, QEMM
       etc.), you must exclude a block memory space for PCMCIA card as
       sample file.

   20. Restart your computer, the Windows for Workgroup 3.11 is ready for
       your Ethernet Card.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
