         Driver Installation Guide for Windows For Workgroups 3.1
      ==============================================================

Introduction
============
    This document describes the procedure to install NDIS 2.0 driver on
    MS Windows for Workgroups 3.1 OS for AF-680 10/100Mbps Fast Ethernet
    PC Card.

    These drivers conform to the Network Driver Interface Specification
    (NDIS 2.01) defined by Microsoft/3Com.

    Location of Driver:   \NDIS2\DOS\AF680.DOS
    Location of Enabler:  \EN680.EXE


Installation Procedure
======================

 A. Installing driver when WFW 3.1 doesn't exist:
    ---------------------------------------------
    1. Run Windows SETUP.EXE. Wait for Windows to request information about
       your network Card. Then select "Unlisted or Updated Network Adapter".
       and press OK button.

    2. Insert the driver disk.

    3. Windows will display a dialog screen to ask the driver path. Then
       enter "A:\NDIS2\DOS" or "B:\NDIS2\DOS" and press return or OK button.

    4. After Windows has read the needed files. It will show another dialog
       screen. You can select hardware configuration as your Card settings.

    4. Continue the installation per Windows for Workgroups instructions.

    5. Before restart your system, add Enabler(EN680.EXE) on CONFIG.SYS. And
       check out if you using any memory management (EMM386, QEMM etc.), you
       must exclude a block memory space for PCMCIA card as sample file.

    6. Now, you can restart your computer to start driver.


 B. Install driver when WFW 3.1 already exists:
    -------------------------------------------

    1. Start your Windows For Workgroups and open main group.

    2. Select "CONTROL PANEL" icon in main group.

    3. Select "NETWORK" icon in control panel window.

    4. Select "ADAPTERS" icon in network window.

    5. Select the Add option.

    6. Select "Unlisted or Updated Network Adapter" and press OK button.

    7. Insert the driver disk.

    8. When a dialog screen is displayed on the screen to ask the driver
       path. Enter "A:\NDIS2\DOS" or "B:\NDIS2\DOS" and press return or OK
       button.

    9. After Windows has read the needed files. It will show another dialog
       screen. You can select hardware configuration as your Card settings.

   10. Before restart your system, add Enabler(EN680.EXE) on CONFIG.SYS. And
       check out if you using any memory management (EMM386, QEMM etc.),
       must exclude a block memory space for PCMCIA card as sample file.

   11. Select reboot computer to restart Windows.


 C. TO ADD NETWARE:
    ---------------

    1. Select the "Control Panel" icon in the Main Group.

    2. Select the "Network" icon.

    3. Select the "Networks" button.

    4. Select "Novell Netware" and select the add button.

    5. Select "OK" and close the Network icon.

    6. Select reboot computer to restart Windows.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
