=============================================================
Introduction
============
This document describes the procedure to setup LAN Manager 2.x DOS
Workstation driver for AF-680 10/100Mbps Fast Ethernet PC Card.
These drivers conform to the Network Driver Interface Specification
(NDIS 2.01) defined by Microsoft/3Com.
Location of Driver: A:\MSlanman.dos\drivers\Pcmcia\AF680\AF680.DOS
Driver description file: A:\MSlanman.dos\drivers\NIF\AF680.NIF
Installation Procedure
======================
1. Installing MS LAN Manager at the first time:
--------------------------------------------
1. Execute the "SETUP.EXE" program that is provided by LAN Manager.
Upon completion of retrieval of the last workstation disk's
contents, you will be asked if you want to import additional
network drivers. Answer "YES".
2. Insert this diskette into the floppy drive.
3. Follow the instructions on the screen. "SETUP.EXE" program will
retrieve NDIS driver programs from the diskette and put them on
the hard disk and directory where LAN Manager resides.
4. After completing the setup procedures, your CONFIG.SYS file
will contain statements for the AF-680 NDIS driver programs.
5. Before restart your system, add Enabler program and modify CONFIG.SYS
if you are using any memory management (EMM386, QEMM etc.). Please
exclude a memory block memory space for PC card. For example:
DEVICE=emm386.exe Noems X=D000~D3FF.
DEVICE=C:\LANMAN.DOS\DRIVERS\ETHERNET\AF680\EN680.EXE
6. Reboot your computer and follow NDIS binding procedure to use the
AF-680 NDIS driver programs.
2. If you have installed LAN Manager in your hard disk already:
---------------------------------------------------
1. Execute the "SETUP.EXE" program.
2. On the screen, select 'Configuration', 'Network Drivers',
'other Drivers' function and input correct diskette driver name.
3. Insert this diskette into the floppy drive.
4. Follow the instructions on the screen. "SETUP.EXE" program will
retrieve all NDIS driver programs from the AF-680 driver disk
and put them on the directory where LAN Manager resides.
5. Before restarting your system, add Enabler program and modify
CONFIG.SYS if you are using any memory management (EMM386, QEMM etc.).
The user has to exclude a memory block for PC card as mentioned above.
6. Reboot your computer and follow NDIS binding procedure to use the
AF-680 NDIS driver programs.

Troubleshooting
===============
1. Message: "!! No free AF-680 card in socket X"
Solution: There is no any card in socket X, or the card in socket X
is not an AF-680 PC card, or it has been bound by another driver.
2. Message: "!! Cannot open PROTMAN$"
Solution: Make sure that PROTMAN.DOS is loaded before AF680.DOS,
and it is initialized successfully. If the syntax of
PROTOCOL.INI is incorrect, PROTMAN$ cannot be loaded.
3. Message: "!! Bad Parameter in PROTOCOL.INI"
Solution: The parameter is invalid. Please check the syntax of
PROTOCOL.INI.
4. Message: "!! Unknown Keyword in PROTOCOL.INI"
Solution: AF680.DOS accepts keywords: "DRIVERNAME", "IOBASE",
"INTERRUPT" and "SOCKET". The others are invalid.
