***** BIOS XANA FOXTROT rev. 102 release note ***** BIOS 1.02 is different from preview version due the hardware implementation of external RTC to solve the problem of internal VIA 586 chip set CMOS part. This BIOS automatically detect the presence of external or internal RTC and enable or disable this function. To do this BIOS 1.02 has some BOOT BLOCK modification due the pin assignament of VIA 586 chip. In order to modify the BOOT BLOCK code one utility is made from TRIGEM but un_ furtunatly this utility works fine only in case of NO INTEL FLASH EPROM. In case of prototype system we should have some motherboards with INTEL FLASH EPROM so this utility don't have to be used. In case of rev. B motherboards (samples received from TRIGEM on march 24/97 with ext. RTC) BIOS 1.02 is already implemented and BOOT BLOCK code is modi_ fied. In case of BA2325 ( first 200 motherboards that we received from TRIGEM) no INTEL FLASH EPROM are mounted so we can use the BBLOCK batch file that run the UPDATE utility to modify the BOOT BLOCK code in order to have the right pin assignment. In case of prototype we can procedee without BOOT BLOCK modification and in this way we have the following limitations: 1)we can not change the speaker volume by setup 2)in case of power on/off power supply after shutdown from WIN 95 system does not powered off also if APM is enabled. No BOOT BLOCK update are necessary in the future to upgrade BIOS 1.02 to next revision.Download Driver Pack
