A) Installation procedure for LANtastic 5.0
========================================
LANtastic 5.0 can support following driver: NDIS driver
Using NDIS driver:
----------------------
For NDIS driver, there is the "MXNICF.DOS" driver for
the Ethernet adapter. You can use "MXNICF.DOS" driver to
replace AEXNDIS.DOS which is the NDIS driver offered by ARTISOFT.
Example ----- CONFIG.SYS
DEVICE=C:\LANTASTI\PROTMAN.DOS /I:C:\LANTASTI
DEVICE=C:\LANTASTI\MXNICF.DOS
Example ----- AUTOEXEC.BAT / STARTNET.BAT
C:\LANTASTI\AI-NDIS BIND_TO=MXNICF_NIF
C:\LANTASTI\AILANBIO
C:\LANTASTI\REDIR MachineName
Example ----- PROTOCOL.INI
[PROTMAN]
DRIVERNAME = PROTMAN$
DYNAMIC = YES
[MXNICF_NIF]
DRIVERNAME = MXNICF$
;;Range:0-7
;;Usage:"Board=nn"
;;-------------------------------------
;;Board=0
;;Option:NWAY,TX10,TX10FD,TX100,TX100FD
;;FD->Full Duplex
;;Usage:"MEDIA_TYPE=XXX"
;;-------------------------------------
;;MEDIA_TYPE=NWAY
Remark: If you request 10Mbps Full Duplex mode, please change the
statement ;;MEDIA_TYPE=NWAY which inside PROTOCOL.INI as
;;MEDIA_TYPE=TX10FD and delete its semi-colon. Please change
corresponding option for another mode.
Comments:
If you are using PROTMAN.DOS V1.x, you must use the NO_BIND
option on the AI-NDIS command line in the STARTNET.BAT,
and you need to run NETBIND.EXE V1.x before AILANBIO.EXE.
B) Installation procedure for LANtastic 6.0
============================================
LANtastic 6.0 can support following driver: NDIS driver
Using NDIS driver:
----------------------
To install PRO120(B) NDIS driver "MXNICF.DOS", you can use the
LANtastic 6.0 install program, select "NDIS support for
network adapters", insert the driver diskette, and type
path "A:\NDIS20\DOS". The Install program will search for
"MXNICF.DOS" and "PROTOCOL.INI" and copy these two files to the
target directory.
If you already installed LANtastic 6.0 and need to install
the PCI Ethernet Adapter, replace AEXNDIS.DOS with
the NDIS driver "MXNICF.DOS" at CONFIG.SYS as below.
"MXNICF.DOS" is an NDIS driver of the adapter card
"AEXNDIS.DOS" is an NDIS driver which supported by ARTISOFT
Example ----- CONFIG.SYS
DEVICE=C:\LANTASTI\PROTMAN.DOS /I:C:\LANTASTI
DEVICE=C:\LANTASTI\MXNICF.DOS
