         NDIS3 Driver Installation for Windows 98
         ========================================

   In this driver release, the NDIS3 driver is provided for the Windows 98
   installation. The path and file name of the NDIS3 driver in the driver
   disk are:

         Win 98 CD-ROM

   Introduction
   -------------

   The following instruction shows how to install the adapter's
   NDIS driver for Microsoft's (R) Windows 98.

   Installation procedure
   ----------------------

   The following installation procedure is assumed that Windows 98 has been
   installed in your computer without any network drivers installed.


   1. Turn your computer off.

   2. Install the Adapter into your computer.

   3. Turn your computer on.

   4. A "New Hardware Found" dialog appears and shows you the compatible 
      version of KF221FX.  Windows 98 will automatic install the adapter.  

   5. You'll have to have your Win98 CD-ROM.  Then press OK when the computer 
      ask for it.  If the computer ask for driver, please type D:\win98 or 
      the driver that has CD-ROM.  
   
   6. If you want to change the protocol, you change it through the following
      steps:

a. When logged into Windows 98, click on the "Start" icon, then 
Move the mouse to "setting" icon and click on the "control panel".

b. In the Control Panel window, click on the "Network" icon.

c. In the Network Configuration dialog box, choose "Add..." button
to add select network component type.

         ========================================

   In this driver release, the NDIS3 driver is provided for the Windows 95
   installation. The path and file name of the NDIS3 driver in the driver
   disk are:

         \WIN9598\DC21X4.SYS

   Introduction
   -------------

   The following instruction shows how to install the adapter's
   NDIS driver for Microsoft's (R) Windows 95.

   Installation procedure
   ----------------------

   The following installation procedure is assumed that Windows 95 has been
   installed in your computer without any network drivers installed.


   1. Turn your computer off.

   2. Install the Adapter into your computer.

   3. Turn your computer on.

   4. A "New Hardware Found" dialog appears and prompts you for the
      selection of PCI Ethernet Controller. You can select the "Dirver
      from disk provided by hardware manufaturer" and press the OK button.

   5. Enter "A:\WIN95" when prompts for the WIN95 drivers and inserts the
      adapter's driver diskette in drive A.

   6. Enter your Workstation and Workgroup names accordingly when prompts
      to next. You'll have to have your WIN95 CD-ROM ready in this section
      for any necessary networking files.

   7. When it finishes copying, your Windows 95 system is ready to run
      with your adapter.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
