INSTALLING KF221FX FAST ETHERNET DRIVER
FOR WINDOWS-FOR-WORKGROUPS VER. 3.11

CONFIGURE THE NETWORK DRIVER FOR A NEW WINDOWS
----------------------------------------------

To configure the network driver for Windows, please follow these step:

1. Start [Network] icon from [Program Manager].

2. Push <Drivers> button in [Network Setup] window.

3. Push <Add Adapter> button.

4. Select "Unlisted or Updated Network Adapter" item bar on the Adapter
    list.

5. System prompts you to insert driver diskette and enter the path of
    the driver directory.

6. Insert the driver diskette into drive A: and enter A:\WFW311.

7. The following two items appear in the list:

        "KF-221FX Adapter NDIS 3.0 Driver"

    Either one can be selected for your installation. The NDIS 3.0 driver
    can provide better performance.

8. Push <Setup> button to configure the adapter.

   For "KF-221FX Adapter NDIS 3.0 Driver" selection, the available
   settings are:

      Burst Length      : 16 dwords               ; reserved
      Bus Number        : 0                       ; reserved
      Pci Mechanism     : Auto Detect             ; reserved
      Connection type   : Auto Sense              ; recommended
                          100Mbps                 ;
                          100Mbps Full Duplex
                          10Mbps
                          10Mbps Full Duplex
      Receive Buffer    : 16                      ; reserved
      Store and Forward : Store and Forward       ; reserved
      Tranmit Threshold : 160                     ; reserved

   Do not make change to the items marked with "reserved".

9. Select "OK" button to complete "Setup" window.

10. Select "Close" to finish "Drivers" window.

11. Now, the network adapter and driver have been added into your Windows.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
