\HELP\WINNT\NT351.TXT NETGEAR EA201 Ethernet Card --------------------------- Driver Installation for Microsoft Windows NT 3.51 ------------------------------------------------- Getting Started --------------- The Windows NT CD-ROM or diskettes are needed for the following procedure. Installation Procedure ---------------------- 1. Boot up the system with Windows NT 3.51. From the "Main" window, select "Control Panel". 2. In the "Control Panel" window, select the "Network" icon. 3. In "Network Settings" window, select "Add Adapter". Windows NT will display a list of all available drivers. 4. Select "Other" for third-party adapters not included in the list. The program prompts for the directory containing the Ethernet drivers. 5. Specify the full path of the driver, A:\WINNT\NT351. (eg. C:\<PATH> is the directory where the drivers were previously extracted.) 6. Windows NT will attempt to locate the OEMSETUP.INF file in the specified path and copy the appropriate drivers into the Windows NT system. 7. Choose the "NETGEAR EA201 Ethernet Card". 8. Windows NT will copy the driver files from the EA201 directory. It also will pop up with the configuration window. You can assign the "I/O Port:", "IRQ Number:", "Duplex Mode:", and "Network Address" here. For "I/O Port:", choose the right I/O address (Please reference SETUP.EXE of release driver diskette root directory) For "IRQ Number:", choose the right Interrupt (Please reference SETUP.EXE of release driver diskette root directory) For "Duplex Mode:", choose the "Half Duplex" option, when card connect to 10M Hub device (Half Duplex is default). Choose the "Full Duplex" option, when card connect to switch device that support 10M full duplex mode. Caution: Unless necessary, do not modify the NetworkAddress field. The driver will use the default unique Ethernet address contained in the serial ROM on the adapter. 9. After the initial installation, the drivers will be permanently installed into the Windows NT system. Subsequent accesses to the network driver list will include these drivers as options.Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
