Windows XP Introduction: ------------- This document describes the procedure to install Windows XP driver for D-Link DE-528CTCT PCI Adapter. Location of Driver: \WINXP\DE528CT.SYS Before you start with the following installation process, make sure that your adapter should be properly installed in your PCI bus slot. Installation: ============= If the INF file and driver for DE528CT has been added into Windows XP, Windows XP will install the driver automatically. We recommend you to install the 'updated' driver from the distributing disk by performing step 2 ~ 11 . 1. When you plug the adapter in the mother board and start Windows XP, it will install the built-in driver automatically. 2. Invoke Hardware by choosing Start\My computer\ View system information\ 3. Click the 'Driver Setting' tag in the 'System Properties' list. There will prompt a "Driver Signing Options" windows. It will ask you " What action do you want windoiws to take? " Choose the " Ignore - Install the software anyway and don't ask for my approval " Click 'OK' 4. Click the 'Device Manager' tag in the 'System Properties' list. Right click the item " D-Link DE-528CTCT PCI Adapter " in the 'Network adapters' list, and choose Properties. There will prompt the 'D-Link DE-528CTCT PCI Adapter Properties' window. 5. Click the 'Driver' tag, and choose the 'Update Driver' button. There wll prompt a ' Welcome to the Hardware Update Wizard ' window. 6. Click " Install from a list or specific location [Advanced]" ,when the wizard ask you " What do you want the wizard to do?" Then click the 'Next' button in the Wizard window. 7. Please choose your search in the wizard, Cilck "Don't search. I will choose the driver to install." Click 'Next' 8. The Windows will ask you " What network adapter do you want to install? " Click ' Have Disk..' 9. There will appear a " Install from disk " window , Insert the DE528CT installation diskette into drive A. Specific the driver's location 'A:\winxp' , Click 'OK' 10. Then , you will choose the " D-Link DE-528CTCT PCI Adapter" Click 'Next' 11. Then, the Windows starts to copy the D-Link DE-528CTCT PCI Adapter driver to the user's hard disk.Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
