This file contains updated information for your "Dell OpenManage 
Client Connector User's Guide" and any other technical 
documentation included with the Dell OpenManage Client Connector
(OMCC).

OMCC is a one-to-one management console for local and remote system 
administration. OMCC is a Client Management application that allows 
the user to view and configure Dell OpenManage Client 
Instrumentation (OMCI) properties and perform remote management 
functions such as shutdown and BIOS updates.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

This section provides information about the minimum requirements for 
installing and using OMCC.

* Operating system support: Microsoft(R) Windows(R) 2000 family 
  (server, non-server, and all service packs), Windows XP Pro and all
  its service packs, and the Windows Server 2003 family.

* Internet Explorer 6.0 or later.

* OMCI support: OMCI version 7.1 and later. 

* IT Assistant support: Only version 7.0 and later.

* Added System Summary and Alert Log pages.

* The online help is accessible from the GUI. It launches the OMCC 
  CIM reference guide.

* Enhanced support for Client User authentication.

* Added support for BIOS authentication.

* Added support for password encryption.

* Class name properties with enumerated numbers are now displayed as 
  text options.You can also select the appropriate text option from 
  the drop-down menu.

* The target system name is displayed on the top left side of the 
  window after the OMCC system establishes connection with the OMCI 
  system.

* The CIM classes are grouped under meaningful headings in the OMCC 
  GUI left window pane.

* The CIM classes are displayed in alphabetical order in the right 
  window pane against each heading.

* Added tool tip information for CIM class attributes.

* CIM class instances are differentiated as Base properties and Dell 
  properties.

KNOWN ISSUES

This section provides information on open issues with OMCC 2.1.

When you try to perform any operation on OMCC after the session is 
timed out, you will get a "The page cannot be displayed" error. 
In this case, close the browser and launch the application again.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
