Overview

This is the basic Gateway OEM Windows XP driver for the Creative Labs Audio PCI 64D and 128D Digital Sound Card (1373 chipset).


Installation

Download the file to the desktop, and then follow these steps. 

1.  Double-click the 7512183.exe file.

2.  In the Win-Zip Self Extractor window, click Unzip to expand the files to C:\Cabs\7512183.

3.  In the Win-Zip dialog box, click OK.

4.  Close all open programs.

5.  From the Start menu, click Run.

6.  In the Run dialog box, type: C:\Cabs\7512183\Setup.exe.  Click OK.

7.  In the SBSetup dialog box, select Install software, and then click Next.

8.  Files copy.  When complete, click Finish.

9.  Close all open windows, and then restart the computer.


Removal

1.  From the Start menu, click Run.

2.  In the Run dialog box, type: C:\Cabs\7512183\Setup.exe.  Click OK.

3.  In the SBSetup dialog box, select Remove only, and then click Next.

4.  Files copy.  When complete, click Finish.


Troubleshooting

If you are having difficulty during or after driver installation, perform these troubleshooting steps.

1.  Verify that all cables are securely connected.

2.  Verify that the sound card is fully seated in the PCI expansion slot.

3.  Manually reinstall the driver.


Windows XP Manual Installation 

Download the file to the desktop, and then follow these steps. 

1.  Double-click the 7512183.exe file.

2.  In the Win-Zip Self Extractor window, click Unzip to expand the files to C:\Cabs\7512183.

3.  In the Win-Zip dialog box, click OK.

4.  Close all open programs.

5.  From the Start menu, click Control Panel.

6.  In Control Panel, click the Performance and Maintenance icon.

7.  In the Performance and Maintenance window, click the System icon.

8.  In the System Properties dialog box, click the Hardware tab.

9.  On the Hardware tab, click Device Manager.

10.  In Device Manager, double-click Sound, video and game controllers.

11.  Double-click Creative AudioPCI (ES1371, ES1373) (WDM) or Creative Sound Blaster AudioPCI 128D (WDM). 

12.  In the Creative AudioPCI (ES1371, ES1373) (WDM) or Creative Sound Blaster AudioPCI 128D (WDM) Properties dialog box, click the Driver tab, and then click Update Driver.

13.  In the Hardware Update Wizard dialog box, select Install from a list or specific location (Advanced), and then click Next.

14.  Select Don't search. I will choose the driver to install, and then click Next.

15.  Click Have Disk.

16.  In the Install From Disk dialog box, type: C:\Cabs\7512183\WDM.  Click OK.

17.  In the Hardware Update Wizard dialog box, Creative Sound Blaster AudioPCI 128D (WDM) is listed.  Click Next.

18.  Click Finish.

19.  Close the Creative AudioPCI (ES1371, ES1373) (WDM) or Creative Sound Blaster AudioPCI 128D (WDM) Properties dialog box, and then click Yes when prompted to restart the computer.


Reason for Update

This is the latest Gateway-supported basic driver for the Creative Labs Audio PCI 64D and 128D Digital Sound Card (1373 chipset).
