PowerVault 110T LTO3 Device Drivers

NOTE: Windows NT is not supported in this release.  The following assumes a PowerVault 110T LTO3 drive is present and the device is attached to a host system and powered on.  This release contains the following drivers for the PowerVault 110T LTO3 Tape Drive:

·         PowerVault 110T LTO3 Tape Drive Driver for Windows 2000 32-bit

·         PowerVault 110T LTO3 Tape Drive Driver for Windows 2003 32-bit

·         PowerVault 110T LTO3 Tape Drive Driver for Windows 2003 IA64 (Itanium)

·         PowerVault 110T LTO3 Tape Drive Driver for Windows 2003 x64 (EM64T)


Installing W2K, W2K3, or W2K3-64bit Device Drivers for Dell PowerVault 110T LTO3

1. Download and run the file R97311.exe. The file will extract its contents to a temporary directory. The default directory is x:\Dell\Drivers\R97311\ where x:\ is the system root.

2. Go to the desktop. Right click on My Computer and select Manage. The Computer Management folder appears. Select Device Manager.

3. The tape drive should be listed under the "? Other Devices". It will appear as “IBM Ultrium-TD3 SCSI Sequencial Device."

4. Right click the “IBM Ultrium-TD3 SCSI Sequencial Device” and select Properties from the menu. 

5. In the new window select the Driver tab. 

6. Click the Update Driver button, this will start an installation wizard. 

7. Click the Include this location in the search.

8. Browse to the location of the downloaded driver.  x:\Dell\Drivers\R97311\.  Select the appropriate directory for your Windows operating System.  
NOTE:  Windows 2003 IA64 Drivers and x64 drivers are not compatable and may result in operating system errors if the incorrect driver is selected.  IA64 is for Itanium based chipsets only.  x64 drivers are for EM64T a.k.a. Extended 64 Windows operating systems only.

9. Click the Next button.

10. Checkmark the Search Removable Media box

11. Click the NEXT button.

12. Click the Finish button.

13. Close the Device Properties dialog box.

14. The drive should now appear in Device Manager under Tape drives as "IBM Ultrium III Tape Drive" and is ready to use.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
