readme.txt Driver File Contents (R132099.EXE)

Note:

Before running this LDIF Script, You must do a global replace of "DC=kvm,DC=com" with your domain
(eg. DC=mydomain,DC=com).

Or, use the -c option when running ldifde.exe.

Example:

ldifde -i -k -c DC=kvm,DC=com DC=mydomain,DC=com -f dellschemaextension.ldf

Where DC=kvm,DC=com is the domain listed in the .ldf file and DC=mydomain,DC=com is the target domain of your active directory extensions.

Prerequisites To Extending the Schema

1. For Windows 2000 systems, do not forget that the registry setting

        \\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\NTDS\Parameters\Schema Update Allowed

must be set to 1 to enable being able to change the schema. This is not needed for Windows Server 2003 systems.

2. You must have Schema Admin Rights on the Domain Controller.

3. The Domain You are installing this from must be the Schema Master FSMO Role Owner of the Forest.

Note: The above restrictions are imposed by Active Directory, not Dell.

Any Errors Generated by Installing the Schema with an LDIF File are standard errors from LDIFDE.EXE.
