*** SPECIAL NOTES FOR THIS RELEASE ***

1. The versions of the driver files included in this FMS release are listed below:

Netware: adpt160m.ham	v16.00
         aha2940.ham	v8.0
	 aic78u2.ham	v8.0
         nwaspi.cdm	v3.20

2. Netware driver support for Dell SCSI Enclosure Processor(SEP) device is included
in this diskette. When a SEP device is detected during Netware installation without a
device driver being loaded, you may see an error message complaining no information
can be obtained for the device. In order to avoid seeing this error message, the "Dell
SCSI Enclosure Processor Driver" DELLSEP.CDM needs to be loaded. During Netware
installation, after loading the Adaptec SCSI HAM drivers, switch to
Netware console, type "load dellsep.cdm" and hit <Enter> to load the driver for SEP device.
Then proceed with the rest of Netware installation.

3. A new version of nwaspi.cdm driver (v3.20) is included in the Netware directory to fix
the following issues with the previous released nwaspi.cdm:
   . Multi-processor support;
. unloading nwaspi.cdm may causes server abend on nwpa.nlm; and
. Adaptec CI/O can not detect device with SCSI id greater than 7.
To load this nwaspi.cdm, add a line "load nwaspi.cdm" in the Netware startup.ncf file.

Notes: This nwaspi.cdm requires support pack 4a on Netware 5.0, or nwpa.nlm dated 10/5/99 to
be loaded. The nwpa.nlm file is included in this driver set and will be automatically copied
to the c:\nwserver directory when the adpt160m.ham driver is loaded when install Netware 4.2.

4. Netware driver adpt160m.ham needs to be loaded twice for the Adaptec dual-channel
SCSI controller AIC7899 or AHA39160, once for each channel. A different slot number is
assigned to each channel during the driver loading.

5. All of the issues described below have been fixed in this service pack release.
The Adaptec FMS v4.0a Service Pack 2 diskette can be used to install the driver
on a fresh or an upgrade installation.

NetWare v4.2/5.x

  AHA2940.DDI (Ultra only)

Added Feature: Updated the driver definition information file for NetWare
    NWPA.

  AIC78U2.HAM (Ultra2 only)

Added Feature: SAF_TE processor devices are now supported.

  ADPT160M.DDI (Ultra160 only)

Added Feature: Updated the DDI file to support the Adaptec 29160N and
29160LP host adapters in a fresh installation.

  ADPT160M.HAM (Ultra160 only)

Fixed Issue: NetWare 5 installation fails installation in a system using RCC
chipset. The failure only occurs if an Adaptec 39160 host adapter is in a
    PCI 66 MHz slot.
